Haven’t had some in a long while. I’ve been craving them though. With some lime, pinch of salt and a dash of tapatío hot sauce. Man oh man

That’s one thing I haven’t tried as I stab myself enough doing other culinary pursuits. Looks awesome!

Ain’t no way it’s your first time. You shuck better than most posts I’ve seen here from restaurants. How did you learn?

  7. Future fyi not sure where you got your oysters from but don’t eat oysters raw during the summer months. Especially from the gulf. High concentrations of vibrio is present in oysters in warm water. There’s a saying a rule of sorts, only eat oysters raw during the months that have an R in it.

Very nice job i see very little in the way of fragments, it does look like you flipped some and not others but bravo otherwise!

You’re not finished. You have cut it away from bottom shell and “float it” for easy slurping.

  10. We shuck oysters every other week at home. Tip: buy a set of cut-resistant gloves and it will save your hands from soreness. I also realized that my hands were much less tired when using a knife that had an extra large grip. Way easier to apply torque to pop the hinge.
