I wish I didn’t know that. The media has to let some people die in SILENCE. An announcement, obituary and SILENCE.

Any of you degenerates feel suicidal please reach out to someone. If you’re in the US you can dial 988.

If you’re feeling depressed don’t put on a mask for everyone until it gets too bad. Reach out for help and stick around.

Never was a huge Ann Burrell fan but this just makes her death so much worse. Please get help if you even remotely feel this way this business can suck the life out of you don’t let it win.

Well, that sucks. I liked her on air personality and I feel it connected with her real life personality. I still make her bolognese recipe, its awesome.

Fuck hulk Hogan, this is the death we need to be mourning

  6. tequilablackout

I love her meatballs. She was always, to me, one of the most enjoyable personalities. This hurts.

Strange combination of OTC sleeping pills, allergy meds, alcohol and amphetamines

Holy fuck, that’s terrible. You’ll be missed, Chef 🙁

No regrets for calling out a tacky comment.

    RIP Anne

So that’s what happened…. CRAP! She was awesome.

That’s a God damned shame. I figured that was the case but seeing it confirmed is a bit of a gut punch. Rest easy Chef.

It’s such a heartbreaker that our minds want to kill some of us. I try not to hate that fucker up there, but he’s also the little guy who was just trying to survive in this life. the eager little kindergartner. I’m trying hard to take care of that little guy. Take care and much love. Godspeed Chef Anne.

I don’t work in this industry, but given her and Bourdain, is it known to have a higher than normal suicide rate? I go to AA meetings, and the restaurant industry is def overrepresented there, so drugs/alcohol might be part of the problem.

Incidentally, one of the people i saw at AA said they went into a terrible spiral after competing on a tv reality cooking show. I don’t think that kind of scrutiny and, given that all but one of the contestants will ‘win’, inevitable ‘failure’ probably make you feel inadequate.

  14. Please let someone know if you are struggling. You are loved and you matter.

You motherfuckers keep the whole thing running so from foh to back, thank you and please reach out if you feel this way.

I learned so much from her. The breaks my heart. RIP, chef.

She was an outstanding teacher, and some of the best east coast chefs I ever met were her students at CIA. A true gem who made an unquantifiable impact on our industry. Terrible loss. This industry can destroy your soul if you let it, never be afraid to reach out for help. Rest in Peace Chef.

she hitched herself to my ex and I at a SOBE food show industry day. this was when she was kinda known as Mario’s Sous Chef. we drank and cursed and told stories and compared scars like Chefs do. got pretty polluted tbh.

    and she was wonderful 💔

This clutch of celebrity deaths sounds like the set up to a joke.

*”A rock star, a wrestler, and a celebrity chef all approach the pearly gates…”*

Y’all take care of yourselves, and each other.

  20. giant_spleen_eater

It’s been said but to reiterate. Call 988, you’re not alone you beautiful degens.

I love every single one of you.

This is a huge blow. Remember to take care of yourselves in the same way you take care of your knives and your best plates, assholes ❤️
