I've been wanting to try to make beef jerky for years. Since 2018 to be exact when my coworker brought in some he made at home in his dehydrator. I’ve been keeping an eye on a dehydrator but my living arrangements were always limited on space. Then I made the awesome discovery, thanks to this sub!!, that I can make beef jerky on my pellet smoker! I used a basic marinade (recipe below), which did justice. I let it marinate for 24 hours, then pat dry with paper towels. I would love to try any marinade recipes you all are willing to share!
I smoked it at 160 for 4 hours and flipped halfway through. Of course, I am biased because i made it but i was thoroughly impressed! My family and friends loved it as well. The Zgrill killed it maintaining the temperature. I didnt even know it could go as low as 160. I used kirkland pellets and a bottom round steak.
Basic marinade:1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp onion powder
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tsp smoked paprika
red pepper flakes
