Owned and operated by Chef Anthony Caturano, the celebrated Gloucester restaurant is known for high-quality seafood with Italian influence
Tonno Gloucester has once again been recognized by Northshore Magazine, earning the coveted Best Seafood – Editors’ Choice honor in the publication’s annual Best of the North Shore (BONS) awards. The recognition reflects the restaurant’s ongoing dedication to exceptional cuisine, thoughtful sourcing, and warm hospitality.
“Tonno”—Italian for tuna—is both the name of Chef Anthony Caturano’s Gloucester restaurant and his boat, moored nearby in the harbor. Since opening, Tonno has become a North Shore staple, offering an elegant blend of classic Italian fare and fresh New England seafood. Signature dishes include Tuna Tartare made from whole tuna delivered fresh and hand-fileted by Chef Caturano himself, Spaghetti Fra Diavolo with sautéed shrimp and house-made pasta, and the ever-popular Crispy Calamari breaded with semolina.
“This award is a testament to the passion and precision our team brings to every service,” said Chef & Owner Anthony Caturano. “We’re proud to represent Gloucester and grateful to be recognized for doing what we love—bringing great seafood and hospitality to the North Shore.”
This marks the fourth consecutive year Tonno Gloucester has received Northshore Magazine’s Best Seafood award. Chef Caturano, who opened his first restaurant Prezza in Boston’s North End over 25 years ago, has grown the Caturano Restaurant Group to include Tonno Gloucester and Tonno Wakefield.
