United Airlines has announced that Shafer Vineyards’ One Point Five Cabernet Sauvignon is now available on board for its premium cabin customers in Polaris Business Class. The premium selection is being introduced to the airline’s in-flight wine list through a new, multi-year partnership with the acclaimed winemaker.
For Shafer Vineyards, one of Napa Valley’s oldest and most celebrated wineries, having its signature wine on board a flight for the first time is a proud day. Shafer Vineyards Managing Director Matthew Sharp expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “We’re excited to work with United Airlines, inspiring the wine selections for its United Polaris business class. At Shafer, we want our wines to be the catalyst for life’s most memorable experiences. One Point Five being served in such a deluxe environment to a worldwide audience of travellers is truly incredible and a proud moment for the whole team.”
A Napa Valley Experience Above the Clouds – Premium
One Point Five is an alluring, rich, and robust red that combines power and softness with strong tannins and lush blue fruit, matched with creamy vanilla aromas. Distinguished for its depth and artistry, this wine is a shining example of Shafer Vineyards’ quality. United Polaris Business Class is the airline’s most up-to-date international business class product, and PS Wine was created exclusively for this cabin offering to provide passengers with a unique taste of Napa Valley’s globally known wine culture.
This 2021 vintage of One Point Five has received critical acclaim, including scores of 96 points for Wine Enthusiast and Jeb Dunnuck. One Point Five is known for its lush, alluring personality, and this vintage is no exception, offering an inviting profusion of ripe blackberry, black cherry, and blueberry aromas and flavors along with footnotes of mocha, new leather, vanilla, li hing mui, and sweet, toasty oak. This left bank Tousled Cabernet Sauvignon is perfect when combined with the luxurious Polaris Business Class service.
United Airlines, one of the world’s foremost international carriers, aims to improve further passengers’ flying experience in its premium cabin offerings with upgraded food and drink. And now with the addition of wines such as One Point Five to its Polaris Business Class, United is not only providing its customers with a comfortable experience, but a delightful one.
