ISHPEMING, Mich. (WLUC) – Ishpeming community members came together to honor all things Italian on Saturday.

It’s the 126th year of Italian Fest in Ishpeming. The event is put on by the St. Rocco – St. Anthony Society of Ishpeming.

As always, the event includes the food booth serving traditional Italian dinners, and food vendors selling food and novelties. People could also enjoy live music and fun for the whole family.

Jim Bertucci, St. Rocco – St. Anthony Society president, says it’s been around for so long because it’s about family.

“It’s just a big family tradition, people come home for it, and we really enjoy having it,” Bertucci said. “And remember, you don’t have to be Italian to come out, it’s for everybody.”

At the end of the night, the City of Ishpeming set off fireworks at the Al Quaal Recreation Area.
