
I saw this unit mention in here the other day and finally got around to looking it up and it looks really cool.
But…can someone explain to me like I'm a 5 year old how the sous vide works? I thought sous vide meant it has to be immersed in water?

Sous vide literally means “under vacuum”, so it’s not specifically immersed in water, but this oven doesn’t use a vacuum either. In this case it seems to just mean a very stable, predictable and (relatively) low temperature.

It’s an oven! Not sous vide.
Yea I wouldn’t count this as true sous vide however it can get similar results
I would never buy an Anova product again. If they are willing to make their devices unusable then I am not going to give them money.
