My buddy from Japan wanted to try a tomahawk steak on his trip to the states. So we picked one up and fired up his parent’s blackstone. It was a bit intimidating to cook it, but it really turned out, so tender and tasted just like prime rib!
Five mins per side on high heat, seven mins per side on medium until it hits about 130 on the thickest part. Rest for ten mins and destroy!

The reason it tasted the same as prime rib is ribeye is from the same part of the cow as prime rib. Great job on the cook.

Impressive dude, I would think the outer would burn before the middle hit temp. Gonna do this myself with my Blackstone now.

So your friend’s parents reside in the states the whole time while your friend lives in Japan? A little confusing.
The end product looks amazing.

Looks great. Glad you shared that with your friend.
If you have a smoker, try smoking it until it’s at about 120 or degrees at the thickest part, throw it in a pan for a few minutes on each side to sear it, plate it with a pat of butter and cover with foil for 3 – 10 minutes. Time and temp may vary depending on thickness of steak.
