Weekend Prep For My Family
Here’s everything I made over the course of the weekend:
Friday
White Bread Loaf
3 Ingredient Tomato Soup
Fruit Loaf
Saturday
White Rice
I also made a vegetable medley of broccoli, sweetheart cabbage, green beans, asparagus and peas (not in video) – these are dinner accompaniments I can grab to serve alongside protein for the days I’m busy ‘cause I like to always ensure I’m serving veg with the kids meals. A tin of sweetcorn is another handy addition in these scenarios.
Dinner: Prawn Arrabbiata, Toad in the Hole and Homemade Garlic Bread using @kerrygold_uk Garlic and Herb
Sunday
Fajita Pasta
Lasagne
Bruschetta (last recipe posted)
I also made 3 sandwich fillings to be used for sandwiches, jacket potatoes, salads etc:
Prawn Marie Rose
Chicken and Ham Mayo
Tuna Sweetcorn
I personally just find it more realistic to prep things over the course of a few days rather than one day… am I alone in this? I genuinely feel like if I spend one whole day cooking then I’m knackered by the end of it and I feel like I’ve neglected my kids.
Let me know if you want any of the recipes I’ve included in the video and/or if you like this style of video 🥰

Here’s everything I prep over the weekend for my family because I’ll be honest, I struggle to do all this in a Sunday alone. So, I’m going to show you what’s realistic for me and therefore possibly you and that’s spreading it out across the whole weekend. So, I kick it off on Friday. Start first thing with making a bread loaf. Start it in the morning and if you work from home, you can bake it in the afternoon. Specifically wrote a recipe that requires no hands-on time, so you just leave it do its thing and then bake it. Next up, my threeingredient tomato soup. I am obsessed with this right now. Quick and easy to make. Tastes delicious. Everything you want in a recipe. Plus, bonus, kids love it. And if you work from home, both those recipes are achievable. Next, there’s got to be a bacon there somewhere. So, it’s a fruit loaf for me. Can’t beat a slice of this bread with a thick layer of butter. Then, we’re on to Saturday. I make a big batch of rice cuz this will last us a couple of meals. Perfecting that rice recipe. And oh my god, it’s tasting so much better. Then, I’ll be honest, that’s pretty much all I had time to actually prep for on Saturday as I was making actual dinner of proniata, garlic bread using my fresh loaf, and a quick toad in the hole for the kids using sausages from B House. Then, on Sunday, things picked up again cuz I made this fajita pasta. Albe it caused a bit of contention in my stories. Hob versus slow cooker method. Then my baby woke up from her nap, so she helped me make bruschetta for some lunches. And then a handy tip for making a big meal at lasagna, blend your vegetables up so much quicker, no chopping required, quick and easy. Then I just assemble that to be baked later.
