ASHEVILLE, N.C. (828newsNOW) — As the city recovers from the flooding and destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, businesses have slowly but surely returned to the Biltmore Village neighborhood outside downtown Asheville. The Biltmore Village CAVA is the latest.

CAVA, a fast-casual restaurant chain specializing in Mediterranean cuisine, officially reopened today, Wednesday, June 18, at their location at 14 Swannanoa River Road. Diners can expect daily operating hours to run from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m.

“We are so grateful to the CAVA team for their hard work, care and dedication demonstrated in reopening our Asheville restaurant after Hurricane Helene,” said Regional Director Louie Lovejoy in a press release. “Our mission is to bring heart, health and humanity to food, and everything we do at CAVA is grounded in that. We couldn’t be more excited to revive our spirit of generosity to our guests, our team members and the resilient Asheville community this summer.”

Prior to the reopening, CAVA donated fresh meals to local community members and raised $5,000 for BeLoved Asheville and Buncombe County Long-Term Recovery Group during Asheville’s CAVA Community Day, during which the company invites neighbors for a free meal and accepts donations to support a local cause, matching the fundraising up to $1,000.

However, “CAVA increased its total match for Asheville’s Community Day to $5,000, split between the two partner organizations, to further support ongoing hurricane recovery efforts,” the press release reported.

CAVA’s Asheville restaurant will employ between 35 and 40 locals. For more information, visit www.cava.com/locations/asheville-nc.
