Hummingbird FOUNTAIN Attracts Hummingbirds CHANGE to SOLAR EASY
How To Make Hummingbird Water Fountain Birdbath NO AC or Solar Powered
How to Make Hummingbird Nectar
Hummingbirds
I need to get out there and show you my deck. I’ve been using it to plant flowers and move things into the garden. Zoe, what are you trying to show? The worst of the worst. I want to clean all this. We’re not walking down there to see the mess. All kinds of flowers. And I did plant them. I just let them go wild. And then I’ve got the ntoriums in there. What do you want to show everybody? My seed mess on. She keeps showing me. Look. Look. Yes. the seeds that didn’t the seedlings that never got planted. Is that you want everybody to know that? This is what Gary asked me to grow and this is the only way I’ve had great success. We’re going to take a quick spin around the raw deck. This has been untouched. All I do is water. And boy, do I have a lot of cleaning to do. Yes, it’s the sun is starting to go down. This is where I feed the hummingbirds. And this is my kitchen window. And this is a beautiful place. But I looked after I put that hummingbird video up and I went, “Wow, we need improvement.” So, that fountain that was there is gone now. It’s going into the garden. And this is what has been going on. Now, I’m getting a lot of food off of here and I haven’t done any videos to show. That’s okay. But I am going to hopefully change this in hopefully less than a week. Now, these dish pans have done wonderful. I’ve got all kinds of flowers growing. Some are in the stands that I make. And this is miracles, but I don’t think this is getting enough sun because it’s kind of shaded where it is. But look at this. The hummingbirds lunch. So, I’ve got all the birds that feed here. They’re all waiting. They’re in the trees and everything. The hummingbirds come here to feed, but they also feed on the flowers. Boy, I realize it’s kind of dark. I may have to do this tomorrow. And then here, I’ve got different deraniums. This is like the Martha Washington. Been moving those around too. And different salvas. And uh let’s see what else is here. Is lettuce. I leave the lettuce because here’s some and there’s some. If the lettuce bolts instead of taking it out right now, composting it. I’m letting the goldfinches eat that. More lettuce. It’s bolting. More zenyas all over. This is fun. Look, I had a sunflower come up. And look, I got seeds. Can you see the seeds in there? I actually have seeds. Probably will take that head off soon and put that in the garden for the birds. So, that’s what’s going on here. These dish pans have been wonderful. But when I come back to redo this, I’m going to go with lower plants because of the snake. Last time the snake came up and he went through the flowers and then his head of course went past it and the birds did. Well, the one bird didn’t see it, but the bird’s fine. The tail’s grown back. I watched him get a longer tail and he’s doing really good. Right, Zoe? Okay, keep going. Here I’ve got mint. I even made mint tea today. More flowers, more geraniums. This is maragolds. More maragolds here. And like I said, it’s it’s a disaster. I’m letting you see the disaster. Probably better. It’s darker. That hummingbird feeder that I made a few years ago that has to be all redone. It’s falling apart. So, I’m going to take that down. That’s a big job though cuz I got to redo the whole thing. So, I’ll be doing that soon. And then here, oh, I didn’t propagate anything off of this blanket flower plant. But, let me tell you something. I’ve got so many. And it’s off the original one that’s in the bird garden. I’ve got to do that one. Hummingbirds lunch. The different types and the different kofias. That is actually a cigar plant, I believe. Had a different one. That’s the one I got from Walmart. Look at all this. Literally, it’s a mess. She knows my yard’s a mess. Oh, but you have so much fun in it. Look at this. Rosemary is growing in here. All from cutings. There’s more rosemary. I got tomatillo starting. Got brassacas. Look, it’s purple. I don’t know if you can see. They’re purple. Very interesting. The seed heads were purple, but the birds are eating it up. And then I’ve got mushroom plant. Got to get a lot of this propagated cuz this you can grow as a house plant. And it’s so good to eat, put in salads or anything you’re cooking or raw. Wonderful plant. More geraniums. This is my angel’s perfume. There’s the other one. Um, actually, I still have the tag when I bought it. Scented geranium that’s there. I don’t want this. See, I’m letting too many things grow. This is fig leaf gourd coming out from the soil itself because I compost. More walking onions. It’s just starting to walk. But see how skinny this one is? It’s not getting enough sun. It’s shaded by the deck here. And then I’ve got uh let’s see, garlic, chives, cel I’ve got celery. And see that’s celery. And then I’ve also got deraniums in here. That’s what I’m saying. This is a real mess. I kind of move things over. I’m working on that fountain and I was working on seeds and then I started working in the garden. So I decided to not use the other side of the deck right now. It’s just too much. Look at the tomatoes. That’s why I’m saying I’m getting a lot off of here. Gary comes out in the morning now and he’s taking tomatoes from here. Look at all this in there. He picked all these this plant fizzling out. I think the flowers took over the marolds and they’re probably rootbound. I’m not going to worry about it. I can plant more tomatoes. Let’s see what else is here. See, there’s more tomatoes back there. This was kind of a disappointment. This was called Baby Boomer tomatoes. They were so tiny. The plants stayed tiny and the tomatoes stayed tiny. I wouldn’t bother with that again. Then in here, oh boy, I got a celery and dill. Dill is growing in here covered so no worms get them. And then the same thing here. I let this still grow. Look at this. Beautiful. And I’ve got dill here growing in with maragolds. That’s doing okay. What else? I’ve got gladiolas that just finished. More different zenas along with marolds. This is where I’m composting. I don’t even know how my worms are doing. I haven’t looked. Uhoh. Oh, they’re still there. Can you see them? I don’t know if you I can see them. There’s a whole clump there. I really got to get them out of here and get more compost for them, but they’re there. Let me put this back because I don’t want this fig leaf gourd. That’s what this is. Um, again, I’m messing with plants I don’t want. This is a great big moringa. I don’t want it. I got to cut it back and maybe put it in the garden in a pot. It’s in a pot back there. More mint. Again, lettuce. I let the birds come in and eat, but then I’ve got zenas growing. So, there’s quite a bit of food. We’ve been picking zucchini. This is still on the plant as you can see. I got to get that off. Look at the sun goals. Oh boy, do I have to stake this up before I lose it. Look at that. I just ate a whole bunch while I was watering a ton of them. And then I’ve got more flowers here again. The maragolds come up everywhere. Just everywhere. See, they’re everywhere. Mint. Then I’ve got peppers. I think there’s one pepper left here, but there’s also a a couple green ones down here. Gary picks those. He comes out in the morning. So there’s more flowers, more peppers. So that’s growing with the marold and a purple tree colored I think it is. And then I’ve got the ntoriums in there. What do you want to show everybody? My seed mess on. She keeps showing me. Look. Look. Yes. The seeds that didn’t The seedlings that never got planted. Is that you want everybody to know that? You do? Don’t you? And then here, look at this more seedlings that never got planted. And then I’ve got, you remember that I bought last year? I think it was at Home Depot. Look at that. I took all the plants out of there. It’s a succulent type plant. Oh, I can’t think off the hand. Sedums and you take some out and it keeps growing back. It’s the plant that never goes away. So, this is like I said, it’s a mess. I haven’t done anything there. Basically, everything’s done. I kind of pulled it all forward. I got to wash that sheet. That’s what the dogs sleep on on the couch. I dragged it out here to shake out and wash. And then what’s here? Strawberries. I just ate a strawberry off of that. This is a crazy pepper. Two peppers. This one was broke completely and I planted it. And this one was almost dead and it’s growing, but I don’t really need the geranium. So, I might pull that out along with rosemary and a brassica in there. And that’s kind of where I ended it. I want to clean all this. We’re not walking down there to see the mess. There’s nothing there. It’s stuff that I just kind of pushed aside. She she actually leads me when I turn on the camera and she knows sometimes in the house if I’m going to do something I put a hat on which I’m not wearing right now but she knows the the camera and that’s what she’s starting to show. That’s it. I’m telling you we’ve been getting a lot of food off of it but it’s a disaster. This is nothing. This was extra soil and the pceline grew and it’s I don’t want it. It just grew. See my fountain I dragged off to the side? I just filled it with water cuz it was dried up cuz I want to scrub that out. See, I’m not perfect. I never said I was. That’s just leaves. I collect the leaves. I’ll use that when I plant again. These are the plants. There’s the pink one, the pink huia. And I’m This was really odd. This plant turned all brown. I didn’t know what was going on, the flowers, and I found out it threw seeds. So, I ended up putting the seeds in here. I didn’t collect any and I see things growing. So, I’ll have to see what happens. This one actually went to seed and there were little seeds and they were all over here. So, I put them in there. This one went to seed, too, but not like this. So, that’s that’s doing okay. And these are the succulents I bought, I think, at Lowe’s and never planted, though. I thought today I have a place for them. And I had these little cups I bought from Walmart. They’re bath toys and it was so cheap. You got all these plastic cups in different colors. I think I’m gonna plant some of the small ones or propagate some of them. But I do have a place I’m gonna plant them. And that’s it. So, you want to see the mess on the deck. Like I said, I come out here. I make tea. I grab tea from here. The mint. I have walking onions, garlic, chives. I got all my herbs that I need. No oregano here. And then I’ve been picking like I almost picked this for dinner tonight, but I think I’ll leave it for tomorrow. I’ve got to get it off or I’ll lose my squash. These are the $5 totes from Dollar Tree. They’re 10 gallons. They are fantastic. They’re in good shape. They’re strong. Maybe my table’s not that great, but they’re in really good shape. I’ve been growing in them since last year. And I’ve got tomatoes. That beautiful. You can’t beat that. Tomatoes and zucchini along with flowers. This is a mustard plant, by the way. It went to seed. I never painted this yet, which is good. I’m glad it’s rusting because when it rusts like that, it’s going to be easier to paint. I painted one. I’m not even sure. Oh, right here. And it needs a little touch-up paint in green. It paints really good. See what happens when it’s too shiny and new, the paint might come off. Even though it’s made for metal, but when it rusts a little bit and then you paint it. I’ll give this one another coat. These are great. These are those hanging racks and you get them at Walmart for like $9 and they’re really nice. I’m really pleased with it. I have hung plants on there. I think I’m going to do a whole thing of maybe I’ll wait till next year. Kind of maybe different berries off of them next year, but I don’t know. I could end up doing it this year. And what’s nice about this is these go in and out. So, if you needed them I can’t do it onehanded. Let’s see. See, if you need to, you can pull these out and you can make it as long or as short as you want. I didn’t want it out, so I’m going to leave it there. You can do both ends. So you can have it short and compact or come out long or you can put two together which is really cool if you want to string them along someplace to hang. That has been really good. I’m hoping you can see the sky is still blue. It’s still light. It’s only like 6:00 but the sun has dropped. See the pine trees? That’s where the sun has dropped. It’s behind there which is nice. The weather is really good. And that’s it. Uh Malibar spinach. I decided to let this thing go up. I don’t know where it’s going to go. Oh, it’s going under there. You can go up. And then more succulents. This is just an airplane plant. A plain old airplane plant. Now, this when I eat turmeric, I take the tiny pieces. Let me move this. And I sometimes stick them out here. Look, I’ve got one growing here. I’ve got one growing here. When you have the tiny knobs, the little nubs I should say, where they’re growing, you can sometimes cut a little piece of the flesh off of the turmeric with the nub and then stick it in there and they’ll grow. So, that’s what’s growing there. I’m trying to reorganize at some point. Here’s my pineapple plant. I graduated it to outside. I don’t want it in my kitchen window. This is one I never separated yet. This is a really nice pink geranium. There should be three plants in there. This is nothing. There was some seedlings in there and now I’ve got celery and other stuff. Garlic, chives, and then another lettuce that’s going to seed. So, you all wanted to see. So many of you came in. I want to see the deck. Well, now you have seen my jungle of a mess. And that’s what’s going on here. But it’s okay. Everything’s growing pretty good. I will have to say the reason it’s also growing good is I make compost tea. I try to do it at least twice a month. It’d be better if I could do it once a week. And I just do the thing that I always do where I take leaves and I rot them in the water. I strain them out, which is probably a lot of work, but you know what? It works. And then I go around and I water my plants. And let me tell you something. Within days, the flowers just burst into buds and I have flowers all over. And the vegetable plants, the same thing. And if you want more detail, just let me know and I’ll get a new video together on it because I think without this, I wouldn’t have as much as I’ve got. And besides, it’s free. It’s the way nature makes it. But the point is, I really do need to clean it up. So now you’ve seen it. And give me about a week. I think in a week I can clean this up. I want to plant these up with lettuce. These are covered. And this will protect my lettuce. This is colored, not tree colored. Real colored. I grew that. Do you see that? 325. It’s been growing in here. Oh, and look, I did a cutting off of one of the geraniums. I stuck it in between the miracles and it’s growing. So, that’s it. My daughter got me these. The flowers are not there right now. They glow. Oh, they’re starting to get more flowers. I need to kind of freshen that up. They glow in the dark. And they do a little bit. And then my cilantro went to seed. And does it look like I’m collecting the seed? Not really, though I should. But all in all, even though it looks like a mess, I will tell you, whenever I want to grab something, I’ve had peppers, tomatoes, squash, onions, you know, the walking onions. I could just step out here and grab some garlic chives, mint, I feel like tea. Any hour, if I feel like a little bit of tea at night, I can step out here in the dark. And I should get my lemon bomb here. I’ve got a bunch of lemon balm growing. And I think I’ll move that out here. And maybe maybe next week you’ll see it all done and new. Zoe left. I don’t know where she went. All right, I’m going to step in so these hummingbirds can come in. They’re screaming in the trees. They want to eat. See, they’re all over. Can you hear them? Right, Zoe? They’re screaming in the trees. And there’s there is the apricot tree that my daughter bought me. See that? Hey, we got we got quite a few apricots off there, but not as much as we should. I think there was like a dozen, if that. So, that’s doing good. The orange trees are doing really good. The chickens are already locked up for the night. Soon as the sun starts to go down, Gary locks them up. There’s more citrus trees. Canas Gary planted all through there for the hummingbirds to feed on. That’s a lemon tree. It’s a pink lemonade. It’s a pink lemon. Really cool. A comquat is there. And then we’ve got the avocado tree. And that’s it. It’s very peaceful here at night, especially as the sun is going down. Everything’s quiet. Hummingbirds are watching, but this has been fun. Look at that. I just saw that today. I don’t want the seeds to fall out, but you can see they’re really in there. Cool. Growing in a bucket. Actually, it was growing in a pot. See the flower pot? And then I stuck it in a bucket and put soil around it because there were roots coming out of the bottom of the pot. And it finished. I asked Gary, “Are these supposed to be tall?” And he said, “No, this is a commercial seed, so they kind of grow them short so they can come through.” And this is how they harvest them. There’s all different types of sunflowers. All right. Well, that’s it. I hope you enjoyed this. And this has got to go, too. I disconnected this. I want to move that also. That one’s running. And the birds take a bath out the window all the time here. And then I’m going to move some more water features there hopefully tomorrow. All right. So, now you see my messy. I’ve got another water feature there. Things on the ground. I was going to put a bird feeder there. I never got to it, but I did get the pole in there. That’s because all day I when I can in between working, I go out into the garden to work. So, here I can just come out at night, whatever I can see, and I water at night. I maybe do a couple plants here and there. You know what this is? I’ll show you this. This is pceline off the not perceline, I’m sorry, porchelotta. I’m probably saying it wrong. These are the seeds I collected off of the ones that are over here. You can’t see them right now cuz they’re closed and they’re pink, yellow, and orange. So, when the seeds were coming off, there’s still some growing. I think on the bottom there’s some plants. I grabbed a bunch of seeds and I put them in that cup and they grew. And then one last thing and then we’re going to go. This is what Gary asked me to grow. And this is the only way I’ve had great success. Look at them papaya. I have tried papaya in so many ways. But when I do it like this setup special, this is how I grew with the papayas last time, years and years ago, and they’re about ready to start going into their own pots. But this thing just germinates them really good, and they do really well. All right, I’m gonna go in because see, they really want to feed. As soon as I move, they all run. They’re not sure what’s going on. She’s talking on the deck and we’re supposed to be feeding. So, I’m going to let the hummingbirds do their thing. And now you got to see a real disaster on the deck. Though, I’ve got tons of stuff growing, all kinds of flowers. And I did plant them. I just let them go wild. So, it’s a wild natural garden, forest, whatever on my deck. So, with that, I’m going to go water. Have a wonderful day and don’t forget to eat what you grow. Bye-bye. It’s very quiet. Oh, look. Look. Is that not cool? All day the hummingbirds and all the birds, they just stop by. Oreos and everything take a bath and come to get a drink out of the strawberry or the watermelon that’s in the window. Okay, bye.

Hi Robbie!
Hello Robbie and Zoey
Hi!!! You have some interesting plants on your deck. Its always fun to see your plants.❤❤❤❤❤❤
Zoey you are beyond precious 🫶💗
Your Garden is Heavenly 💛🙏 it’s perfect !
I have one pair of hooded orioles at my hummingbird feeders in Phoenix.
The sad abandoned seedlings 😭 I have those also😂
❤
A video on compost tea please. Beautiful gardens as always. Thank you for the video.
❤ your mess. All is good ❤
It's nice to see a mess, and even better to see it transform into whatever you imagine Robbie! Hope you share more of this!
Hi Robbie and zoie
My garden is kind of a mess too! The birds gave me a 3 Sunflowers and a Swamp Milkweed! Free plants! 🙂 I had a Ruby Throated Hummingbird come by today and went to the plants I planted for them! 🙂
Robbie you have so much on your deck it’s a beautiful forest of surprises. Thank you and Zoe .
It is good to see that you let seedlings that never got planted go too. It makes me feel like a horrible gardener sometimes. 😬
Robbie thank you for sharing your deck garden. I think it's awesome. I call my gardens messy too but everyone says they're beautiful. Lol Fur-baby is adorable.
Love Sherry ❤🙏💕🍅🫑🌶
The weather pattern this year is so weird. It's been a cold summer. Not once we had a day that's anywhere close to 90 degrees. It's been 60s everyday.
Wait a minute. You say it's a disaster. But, it's a beautiful disaster.
I love your style of natural wild gardening. That is the most relaxing and handy way to enjoy your flowers and vegetables. Its wonderful.💗💗💗
Tengan bonito fin de semana muchas bendiciones 😊
I would LOVE to learn your leaf recipe for watering!!
I'm thinking of planting a tree collard . Does anyone out there know where to get seeds or plants mail order? I can't find them locally. AZ? Crazy. Thanks all.
Your porch looks pretty good to me💕👍

Thank you for sharing the video on how to grow on a balcony. You should look into growing Sea Kale if you liked.
Absolutely love your garden tours and great advice Robbie, did you notice the heart shape puddle near your fur baby at the start of your video.lots of love Melbourne Australia.
❤
Robbie, I hung a water fountain beside my hummingbirds feeder. They drink their food but have yet to go to the fountain. Do you know else I can do to entice them.
My garden is a mess. Its winter here. Weeds are flourishing. Still 36 days until Spring is sprung❤Its freezing cold here (South Africa and yes i know im a weakling calling it cold😂). Your video has inspired me to go outside , pull some weeds, add it to water for plant food. I've been collecting earthworms and putting them in buckets with soil, kitchen scraps, dead leaves etc. Come Spring i will have some worm tea and castings. Thank you Robbie for the inspiration.
I love your deck! Our decks are very shady since they have roofs on them. I wish they were sunnier. We have acres and acres of sunny pastures but there is something special about a deck garden! lol
If I start watching a gardening channel and their garden is absolutely clean and pristine, I won’t watch them. What you do is show us real gardening. I really appreciate your mess, because mine looks just like that. It’s practical. Everything where we need it. Don’t worry about the mess. Your plants are gorgeous.
I planted baby boomer tomatoes by seed in two pots and they have been doing great. I started them indoors in March. They grew I would say no more than 24 inches tall. First time planting them. I have been harvesting since early June and still going strong. They are enough for me. They are like cherry tomatoes. First time I have had no issues with tomato plants. I'm in NJ. I have plenty of seeds for next year too.
Whenever I'm in my garden, picking green onions or zucchini or kale or etc … I hear Robbie saying "… and don't forget to eat what you grow!"
Hi Robbie ❤your videos. Do you still use cat litter?
Robbie your mess is beautiful! I love seeing a real garden.
Humming bird heaven!
