The Statler Bistro and Market, an upscale French restaurant at 313 Park Ave. in downtown Detroit that opened in late 2021, has abruptly closed, according to a Facebook post. The closure is intended to “reimagine and redesign the space to create a fresh new experience for our guests.”

“We can’t wait to welcome you back in the late fall with a fresh concept, a reimagined space, and something truly worth the wait. Thank you for your continued support.”

Crain’s Detroit Business reports that owner Joe Vicari confirmed the closure, saying the French-inspired restaurant won’t be coming back.

He tells the publication that the opening of another French restaurant, Le Supreme — inside the nearby Book Tower — cut into The Statler’s profits.
