Went to Chocolate by Uzma In Pilsen and thought I’d get a chocolate chip cookie on the way out. This was easily the best cookie I have had in Chicago. Not too much, a little sweet, and a little salty. The chocolate she uses is amazing and really balances out the cookie. I would gatekeep but knowing that she’ll be moving to more online sales at the end of the year makes this worth trying before it’s too late.

Bold statement, but I am certainly interested.

They are really good. All of her chocolate creations are really. I stuff my family’s stockings with her stuff every Christmas and they’re always a hit.

  3. Oh no, what do you mean she’s moving to more online sales??
She also sells ice cream sandwiches with these. 10/10.

This place has been blowing my mind, thank you for sharing. Just suggested it in the brownie post too

To add to this, I can say the absolute worst cookie I’ve had in Chicago (when price is considered) was at the game room at the Chicago Athletic Association. Absolute trash and insanely overpriced.

  7. Am I the only one who refuses to pay $4 for a single fucking cookie?

thank you for posting this, I got a gift from Chocolate by Uzma years ago and have been meaning to go back ever since!

Also I think $4 is incredibly fair for a gourmet cookie at a small indie chocolatier/bakery. I paid $5 at Swadesi recently and probably would again

Oh shit she’s going online at the end of the year? I definitely need to stop in while I can.

I still hype Crescent Bakery’s cookies; do a comparison!

Located in Bridgeport/Pilsen border, she definitely had some pretty good cookies, however I find that, because they’re not kept warm/fresh, the cookies aren’t nearly as good as they can be. My favorite cookies, even though they’re chains is still Insomnia, and Levain bc of this fact.

I have yet to meet someone who beats my toaster oven and a pack of toll house cookies for 7$ that makes 30ish cookies

Nothing is better than those little one bite cookies warm and goey

    On my list.

Caramel Date cake sounds delicious too.

Just the other day I stopped by to get this cookie and ended up getting their brownie as well. The cookie was delicious but I found the brownie absolutely incredible. Apparently they had just brought the brownies back. So I highly recommend that as well!!

I make a pretty solid choco chip in my kitchen. The key is to refrigerate the dough overnight before baking.

  19. I think the best cookie I’ve ever had in Chicago I bought from a stand outside at my senior year homecoming dance. If anyone knows who was selling cookies at the 2022 Mother Mcauley homecoming dance please lmk 💀 they were really fucking good

Highly recommend people to try Dan the Baker’s cookies at Emily Hotel in Fulton Market. Literally changed my life with how good they are
