Seller told me he "got a real grill now" (gas).

Ignitor still works! A long with the timer and the cover is in decent shape.

Damper functions but would love to replace it since it got scorched. Would like to find it less than $20-$30 that I see online. If anyone has a link to a more affordable one, please let me know!

No rust anywhere? I would especially check the weld points around the outside of the kettle.

I’m envious… same one is listed near me for $225

Mask off the kettle and give that aluminum vent a gentle scrub with bkf. Should wipe right off.

Nice find. Especially since it looks like it was used for cooking and smoking.

  5. You beat me, friend. I got mine for $80 a couple of years ago

That looks like a great score!!! Winner Winner *Grilled* Chicken Dinner!!!!

wonder if a little steel wool on the Damper could help it?

A “real grill.” Did you laugh in his face or all the way home?

If that top damper functions, I’d clean it instead of replacing it. Cheaper, faster, and no chance of damaging the grill.

If that seller thinks a gas grill is “real”, then all the better for you!

  9. Nice score. Looks better than mine and I wouldn’t let it go for twice that.

Nice! You got the gas-assist one. I have that, and I payed more for a used one. The “timer” is useless, the thermometer is … useless (get yourself a wired one or a wifi one – not bluetooth). I hope the grates are in good shape, otherwise get yourself the gourmet one, with central opening and left/right too (be aware of cheap clones here!). Get an upper rack when you find convenient. You have more space to keep things warm (or put garlic bread). I got a rose to use regular propane, on emergencies (since I have those too). Not sure if you have the one-touch system at the bottom, and if not, it is hard to find. In the future (if you live in cold places) think of the ceramic insert. All of that attacks in a exponential way your wallet.

And if your gas assist isn’t sparking, the battery is housed inside the button!

OH! And get a rotisserie kit! It has 2 functions: the rotisserie stuff itself (which is cool), but it works as an ring-extender, so you can put more fire, and grill hotter from a distance (I don’t like the flames touching the meat).

Also, learn about the “snake method”. Works like magic, if you are planning into smoking.

Also-also, if you see the flaky paint falling from inside of the dome, it is not paint. It is the result of using it. Get a plastic scraper, remove it, wash it, #done. Don’t overthink on that.

    🖖

Edit: save on propane. When it catches fire, put it on minimum. It gives you the same result. I don’t use chimneys anymore. If you do, maybe you need full flame.

If you actually use the timer, you may be the first in history 🙂

I had the exact grill. loved it. Eventually replaced it with a stainless steel performer.

    Awesome.

Use the chiminey along with the gas ignitor. If not it takes too long and turns on unevenly but the ignitor makes it sooo easy. I have that exact color. And a genesis for when I’m lazy, or for a quick cook.

The charcoal baskets are nice too.

  13. I have this one to! My neighbor was moving and did not want to take it so I got it for 60! Great deal for you! It is really a great set up. I’m doing a birthday brisket on mine right now!

  14. Fantastic find. So what are we grilling this weekend boss?

Sweet! Love the green color! Need to get one to match my green Genesis
