Cabbage steaks are best when treated as the main focus. Seasoning and letting the cabbage shine is the best.
Otherwise you are just looking for another cheese and/or meat vehicle, and lets be real, you can do that with anything.

Like damn, she’s probably tired from working all day, grocery shopping, cleaning the house, and has to come up with dinner too. Sometimes we’re tired and just throw something together. Granted seasoning goes a long way, but you could have offered to make a sauce or something if you thought it looked so bad.

So I Love making cabbage “steak” whether or not you wanna relay the information is your call. But what I do is season them (to your liking) and give them a slow and steady sear in a cast iron pan (or really whatever pan you want I guess) with olive oil, or whatever lol. Then what I do is poor in some water/balsamic vinegar…and even chicken stock works super well with it. Then stick the whole pan in the oven until the desired tenderness. That way it soaks up all the water/vinegar/stock whatever. And it doesn’t get dried out. Super nummy for your tummy 🤤
