I thought this may be of interest in this sub. I have usually seen the EU being faced with producers from other countries arguing that Gorgonzola, Parmesan, and many others are generic names for a style, which the EU and EU producers usually dispute. In this particular case it is the EU arguing in the very same manner, saying that Emmental is a generic name for a type of cheese. Gotta love politics 😀

That being said, I am hungry for some good cheese now.
