I bought a plant of 'Scorpion Yellow' with an image showing bright yellow and bumpy skin but they grew to an orange hue, no skin bumps. Haven't tried it to see if it's spicy.
Just a variation of Scorpion pepper or something else entirely?

My first White Reapers were pretty peach colored. 2nd batch from the plants gave white fruit. Happened with a few varieties.

Orange Hab and still worth having, just know you’re not getting what’s advertised and enjoy!

Sometimes they can just end up random if there’s been any degree of cross pollination. Last year I got some plants from a dude on a market and none of the 4 turned out to be what he said they were, I could see that they had some genetics from the varieties he said, but they had obviously crossed with other stuff. The only one that actually looked like what it was supposed to be (Tropical Red Habanero) was really mild compared to what it should have been. The other “Tropical Red” seemed to be crossed with his Carolina Reapers though (I know he was growing those) and that one was extra spicy.

I’m accidentally growing scorpions thinking they were orange habs, and you’re doing the opposite. What is going on here?!

Orange Habanero, they’re tasty so it’s not a total loss.

Normally I’d say you got ‘Joe’d,’ but since the brand of seed is ‘Orto Mio,’ I’m going to say you got, ‘Jose’d’.

I would actually be happy to get this one 😂 Everyone else ended up with those damn Jamaican Mushrooms.

The saving grace here is that orange habs are an awesome freaking pepper. Extremely flavorful and just under the superhot heat level so they can still be used in many culinary dishes (depending on heat tolarance). One of my more popular hot sauces I make uses the orange hab.

Orange habs are my favourite peppers. Best mix of flavour and heat. Any hotter and you lose flavour. You won that one ahaha

Atleast a nice orange Habanero, in germany they sell them and they always went red!
