Legendary N.J. Italian ice stand is closed after 107 years, will be torn down. What’s next?

DiCosmo’s Italian Ice, a staple in Elizabeth for more than 100 years. It’s closed this summer as a new owner retools the iconic business.

There is no better Italian ice in New Jersey than what’s found at the little green shack in Elizabeth.

Unfortunately, die-hard DiCosmo’s Italian Ice fans will probably have to wait until at least next year to get their lemon, pineapple, cherry and other fantastic flavors. DiCosmo’s is currently closed after more than a century of business.
