New place opened up down the road two days ago. He sold out yesterday and was busy today. I ordered a meat lovers and a veggie (not on the menu, had to "build my own"). Dude has a wood oven in a shed basically. It smells and tastes amazing but he needs to stretch the dough more and let the pizza sit in the oven another 4-5 mins. A little disappointed that the veggie one came out round but he put all the toppings in one corner. Hopefully he'll work this all out because without him, 10 mins away, I have a half hour drive to get pizza.

It’s not great, I’ll give you that, but 5 more minutes in a wood oven and you’d be eating some cripsy ass piece of shit. Italian pizza is fine cooked just like that. It takes 2 minutes max to cook one properly in a good oven.

Looks delicious even if it is deformed

It looks like the pizza is lonely for the corner

New business or not, I’d feel ashamed to charge full price for that meat pizza… Still, these things are a skill you aquire, give it another month or so and he’ll probably have it down

Zero leoparding out of a Wood fired oven. Hurts to see.

Thats just laziness. Is it a crime? Well if it ain’t…it should be.

If there’s anything I remember from business school: People will pay more for a handmade pizza that is not a perfect circle (usually was frozen)

I mean, it’s crazy that the guy opened a pie joint and is selling out w/ that. That’s great, he knew there’s nothing else close by? But I can’t imagine opening a restaurant and not having my shit even close to being put together. That’s like pizza No. 3 for a complete amateur.

If it’s new, and a local business (not a chain) I say innocent! They’re trying, and they’re probably super busy!

Should be cooked away darker for a wood oven. The veggie one has way too much cheese. Guilty. Misdemeanor

As a long time pizza maker, this looks like he was too busy, not topping stuff well and is having issues stretching and landing his pies off the peel. The veggie looks like it might not be cooked all the way. I hope for the sake of this business they work out the kinks. The ingredients look good!

Looks tasty, but yeah, they weren’t ready to open if this is the best they could do.

If you do it right, feedback like this is invaluable to a new business. The key is to not use a public review (you did good here by not mentioning the name) and to sandwich (yeah, I know, but it works) the suggestion between compliments. He still needs to be open to feedback, but it can be the difference between a successful and failed business

  14. This is why new places don’t open for a couple of weeks so they can figure stuff out first.

I wish people would put how much they paid for it along with the pics

    I’d rule it a misdemeanor.

It’s misshapen, but it looks good. Topping distribution on the second pie could be better, but this is hardly worthy of jail time.

Someone tilted the veggie pizza. I’m pretty sure the toppings were evenly distributed to begin with. You can see the oil stain in the upper right hand corner consistent with a hot pizza being tilted.
