SPIN 4 TIN

Scallops in sauce by Roman Pena

Roman seems to always delivers and this can is no different. The beautiful tomatoey savory sauce takes this one over the top.
This can is a guest I would welcome at any party, as long as it was just the two of us 😀 .
A romantic setting of a table with a lit candle to set the scene, table for 2, maybe…just me and Ramon having a moment.

That tin looks great, do tinned scallops generally have that great flaky texture or is it a Roman Peña thing? Either way thanks for sharing!

Great anatomy lesson! 😉 Did you post your dream here, too? 🤣🤣🤣

I googled this brand and see they have both a silver line and gold line for this? What’s the difference? The ingredient list is the same.

Also their canned cockles and clams are so pricey! Are they actually worth it at over $30? Is this normal? (I looked it up at caputo’s)

I had some Roman pena sardines in sauce the other day, top 5 tin. Got wife to try them and she ended up eating most of them

    I’m convinced… you’re my long-lost brother from another mother!

Your attention to the sauce, and not so much what’s soaking in it, tells a tale that’s been the most important aspect of a tin, in my opinion, since the very beginning.

I, too, am wowed by sauces I have found in various tins. I’ll have to plan a post out to highlight some of my absolute favorite tins.

We already know what to expect from the seafood within. But, the sauce…it can be simple or complex, but it must present just a slight advantage over the taste of the fish without being the star of the tin…

Once in a blue moon, you happen upon that glorious tin that you open, taste, and wonder where its been your entire life.

It’s as if an unknown symphony of flavors grace your taste buds for the very first time…

    Absolute Bliss….

So is that your personal stash or a store?

  11. This is EXACTLY the type of unboxing we all need in our life’s. Bonus content the digging around in the fish wall. 🫶🏻

  12. Yum. I haven’t eaten in a couple days, but I would crush that can.

    I love these posts.

Small ask: could you add a link, when relevant, to where you get them from?

Is it just me or has your collection grown enormously over the past couple months?
