The vines emerged skyward! As you can see we have lots of leaves and male flowers and few (no) pumpkins. It’s a bit cooler in 7a this week so maybe the ol girl can turn things around.

Excited for the update! I thought your idea to train the vines into the tree was very clever.
Are these regular pumpkins, or are the shapes distorted by them being dangled in the air?
    So cool, nevertheless.

  2. LMFAO I have something similar going on in my backyard except it’s with honeydew. I gave it an assignment to grow up the trellis I had set up under a tree, and now it’s taking me over the tree. I’m surprised the squirrels haven’t gotten to the melons hanging in the nets. 😂

Oh my gosh! I thought my butternut squash deciding to grow along my chain link fence was interesting but this is next level!

I’m glad I’m not the only one with squash that seem to harbor dreams of being a tree. I don’t know what my gourds are doing but they’re doing it at an alarming rate and it appears to involve the nearest tree.

Interesting. Very interesting. A friendly guest that goes to rest.

This is how the Seminole Indians grew Seminole pumpkins in Florida. I was always concerned they would overgrow the tree because they really do take over! Plus you need a plan with a step ladder lol.

ooooooh I always wondered if/how this would work… very curious to see who will win the whole Gravity v. Plant’s Ability To Maintain Turgidity And Move Water fight. I really want this to work out though, fuck gravity
