Adding psyllium husk powder to ground meat dishes is an easy way to add an invisible boost of fibre. I foolishly believed that the front of the Metamucil label gave me all the information I needed. “No added sweeteners,” & “unflavoured.”
But a teaspoon (5.4 gram serving) contains only 3.4 grams of psyllium husk: the other two grams are maltodextrin and citric acid, listed in that order.
Maltodextrin is as blood-glucose-spiking as sucrose.
Sigh.

    Just the 4-1?

Like the normal shit is ok?!

Edit: I’ve been buying off brand pure fibre

Just buy Psyllium Husk Powder – it’s available at a LOT of big stores.

I would recommend you buy both of:

    Whole psyllium husks

    And

    Psyllium husk powder

They’re both awesome depending on what you’re trying to do.

Any brand you recommend that dissolves really well? I can’t stand the grainy texture of the one I tried.

2gr of maltodextrin carbs, is that enough to be concerned?
