The Grow a Garden Gourmet egg was added to the game as part of the Trading update and offers you the chance to add new pets to your garden.

Much like the Oasis Egg, getting what you want from a Gourmet egg involves a little bit of participation in the Cooking event alongside luck. If you’re lucky, then you might find yourself a useful pet like the French Fry Ferret!

With this in mind, let’s learn how to get the Gourmet egg in Grow a Garden, including the Gourmet egg pet traits.

How to get the Gourmet egg

The Gourmet egg can be earned via the Cooking event added as part of the Trading update. This egg is available constantly whilst the Cooking event is on, but to earn it, you will have to get lucky with the meals you cook for Chris P. Bacon since it is a random reward upon handing over food to him.

The Gourmet egg takes around four hours and ten minutes to hatch, so it’s one you’ll have to leave for a while before finding out which pet you’ve rolled for.

There are five Gourmet egg pets, so let’s take a look at their odds…

Gourmet egg Pet Traits

Here are the traits for all of the Gourmet egg pets:

Pet
Trait

Bagel Bunny
Every 5-45 seconds, the bunny will eat a carrot for x5 value bonus.

Pancake Mole
Every 10-80 seconds, digs underground to find treasure.
Treasure can be gear or sheckles.

Sushi Bear
Every 10-80 seconds, there’s a 15% chance nearby fruit receives the Chilled or Frozen mutations.
Additionally, every 100-670 seconds, the bear will throw sushi at a random pet, feeding it to restore anywhere between 1 and 50% of their hunger.

Spaghetti Sloth
Every 3:20-14 minutes, will go to a nearby crop and apply the Pasta, Sauce, or Meatball mutation.

French Fry Ferret
Every 20-60:32 minutes, the ferret will increase another pet’s level by 1.

In our opinion, the best pets from the Gourmet egg are the Spaghetti Sloth and French Fry Ferret.

For the Spaghetti Sloth, this is because you’ll get a constant generation of some new and rare mutations, whilst the French Fry Ferret will provide bonuses to all the other pets in your garden, improving their efficiency and abilities.

Alternatively, even the Sushi Bear is a solid get for the fact that it’ll keep your other pets topped up on hunger, whilst also providing mutations of its own.

Best of luck hatching the Gourmet egg! Make sure to check out the Grow a Garden codes page and seeds list.
