On August 2, 2025, a major update called “Trading and Cooking” was released in the game Grow a Garden. It introduced new gameplay mechanics—cooking and a player-to-player trading system—along with new pets, tools, and several other changes to the game. In this article, we will tell you about all the most important additions included in the Trading and Cooking Event update.

One of the central elements of the new update is cooking. The in-game event involved Chris P. Bacon, and players can cook dishes using collected plants and fruits from their garden. To do this, you need to gather all the required ingredients and add them to the pot, after which the finished meal is served to Chris P. The reward depends on the quality and rarity of the food prepared, but the best prizes go to those who manage to guess his hourly cravings.

To cook truly unique meals, you need to experiment with ingredients, which adds interactivity to the gameplay. Here are the rewards you can get:

Each of them is unique and will be a great helper in your garden.

New Seeds and Crops

For those who prefer gardening over cooking, the developers also prepared new content. This update added a variety of new plants to enrich your garden. Most of them can be obtained from the Gourmet Seed Pack after feeding Chris P., though a few can be crafted. For players who don’t want to cook, there’s also an option to buy an exotic seed pack for Robux.

Here’s the list of seeds in the Gourmet Seed Pack with their drop chances:

Onion – 40% ChanceJalapeno – 25% ChanceCrown Melon – 30% ChanceSugarglaze – 10% ChanceTall Asparagus – 4.5% ChanceGrand Tomato – 0.5% Chance

Twisted Tangle and Veinpetal were also added and can be crafted.

New Trading SystemGrow a Garden Trading and Cooking Event Update 2

Another important addition is the updated trading system. Previously, item trading between players wasn’t very convenient, and the developers have addressed this. To start trading, you need a Trading Ticket, which sometimes appears in the Gear Stall for 100,000 Sheckles. One player initiates the trade, the other accepts—and a new window opens. At the moment, you can only trade pets, crops, and Sheckles. Seeds and gear items cannot be traded.

New Tools

That’s not all—several new tools were also added to the game, including the Grandmaster Sprinkler. This prismatic rarity item is more advanced than the Master Sprinkler. In addition to the functions of its predecessor, it also boosts the effectiveness of pets.
