Good luck finding those at the butcher

I think I will stick the fried bread variety of beaver tails, but thanks.

When vinegar and raw onion rings is what is needed to turn it into a treat, I am all set, thanks.

I’d try it, but I’d probably eat a shoe sprinkled in vinegar and served with onions.

Only have old beavers around here 😕

My friend hunts beavers and nails their tails to a tree for the birds to pick at. I’ll have to forward this recipe to her so she can make better use of it.

Must have been from before the Mennos got there.

Somehow still not the worst thing to come from Steinbach.

As a resident of Corvallis, Oregon, I object. Sounds tasty, though.

I thought I was going to read about the doughy baked beaver tails and was thinking they had them back then? Lol

Lawd, please help, those young beavers went through so much

Genuinely curious about trying this one, actually.

Lewis and Clark’s expedition preferred Beaver tail over any other food they ate, according to their journals.

Wow I thought this was the poetry subreddit and I was having a real hard time figuring out the meter to this one

I have gotten to try beaver tail when we had several harvested off our land. We had a licensed trapper harvest them and prepare the tail for us. Fatty tasting.

Beaver tails up here are how some people keep from rabbit starving.

Eaten it. Hates it. Tastes like fish.

Um… you might just have a problem with killing all animals, then.

Remember the good old days, when you and the neighborhood rowdies would pass the time kicking an old piece of rope? Then mom would call you inside to gather around the dining room table for a steaming hot plate of Dr. Trans Old Fashioned Peppermint Beavertail

I thought this was from like 1904, not 1984. What a neat find!

As recent as 1984 huh……I was hoping it was 1884 😳

We eliminated a lot of beavers’ natural predators, so while their dams are often good for the area, you also don’t want a ton of them because they will go on a rampage.
