Here is a link to my video for canning this blackberry syrup:

This is a very quick video putting our blackberry syrup to use. You’ll add some butter to a hot skillet. We’re going to be making some pancakes. Blackberry syrup goes amazing with pancakes. Just like blueberry syrup and maple syrup and all kinds of yummy things. I used buttermilk pancake batter. Sometimes I make my own, but sometimes it’s easy to just use a box mix. There is no shame in that. And I do scoop out the extra part of a batter off camera. You don’t want to waste any. And when the bubbles make craters, you can tell that the pancake is ready to flip. Here is the blackberry syrup that I canned actually exactly 1 month ago. And it did solidify a little bit, possibly because blackberries naturally contain high amounts of pectin. So, even though I didn’t add pectin, it’s still solidified. But that’s totally fine. I followed the recipe. It’s still shelf stable. Look at that pancake. It is beautiful. So, here’s how you open the jar. You want to look for the threading, the glass threading on the jar. Follow it to the top. And then you take a spoon and you wedge it in between that very top part of the threading and the lid. And you just pop it open just like that. And that’s how you break the seal. And then we’ll just go ahead and scoop some of that beautiful syrup right onto the pancake. And it just spreads so beautifully. Look at that. It’s almost like a paint palette. So smooth. And I use plastic reusable lids so that way I can just pop it in the fridge and it’ll stay nice and fresh for a little while. And you can dust with a little bit of powdered sugar if you want. It just depends on how sweet you want your pancake. And it makes the pancake look kind of fancy. So that’s always kind of fun for the video. And now it’s time for a taste test. This was such a fun, cute little video to make. Look at that beautiful blackberry syrup on a gorgeous, soft, and fluffy buttermilk pancake. It tasted absolutely incredible. Thank you for watching and betaon.
