Talia, a 120-seat restaurant that brings refined Italian and French-inspired cooking to the heart of Port Chester, NY, will make its debut on August 9.
Founded by Chef Ian Vest and named after his daughter, Talia is a heartfelt expression of food, family, and hospitality. The restaurant’s mission is to break down the traditional barriers between the kitchen, the staff, and the guest. At Talia, you’re not just a diner—you’re part of the experience.
Drawing deeply from his classical French training and love of Italian cuisine, Chef Ian Vest has designed every dish to be both comforting and intriguing —the kind of food you crave again and again, with just enough surprise to make each visit feel new. The menu embraces seasonal ingredients and was inspired by his experience at acclaimed restaurants such as DANIEL by Michelin-starred Chef Daniel Boulud and the beloved Back 40 Kitchen in Greenwich. It features a variety of shareable starters, such as hamachi crudo and lamb polpette, house-made pastas, artisanal pizzas, and elevated entrées including a standout dry-aged duck breast and a pork tenderloin brined in tea.
“My vision is simple yet ambitious: to create a place that feels elevated but never exclusive, where locals feel known and guests feel instantly welcomed. Whether you’re celebrating with friends or grabbing a weeknight meal at the bar, Talia invites you into a space that is both beautiful and deeply personal,” said Chef Vest.
Talia’s design reflects its philosophy—inviting, stylish, and approachable. Set across two levels in a thoughtfully renovated space, the restaurant features modern wood and metal accents, exposed brick, soft lighting, and a sweeping bar that invites conversation. The upstairs level features a large, dramatic half-circle bar that will serve as the heart of the restaurant. It’s a vibrant social hub perfect for sipping inventive cocktails or sharing a bite, and the space can seamlessly convert into a private dining area for events and gatherings. Whether you’re hosting a celebration or just looking for a cool, energetic spot to unwind, the upstairs bar adds another dimension to Talia’s welcoming spirit.
The bar program is thoughtful and playful, featuring signature cocktails ranging from the Saffron Sour, the Primo that mixes basil with strawberry, and a blue cheese-infused vodka dirty martini. Diners can also find one of the most compelling wine lists in Westchester County at Talia, curated to complement the ever-evolving food menu.
Talia sits in the heart of downtown Port Chester, NY, just steps from the train station and the vibrant local music and arts scene. The restaurant will be open for dinner Tuesday through Saturday from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm, though Chef Vest hints at lunch and brunch service coming soon.
