Got this Pitmaster Q3 from a dude on offer up for $50, and before you say I should have known better, yeah, I should have known better. This is what it looks like after I vacuumed it out. Apparently, guy used it once, left it out in the rain for at least one Pacific Northwest winter, and then his wife made him get rid of it. When I got it, the hopper was full to the brim with wet pellet mush, so of course the auger is severely jammed and rusted, and the screws are so rusted that I can't even begin a disassembly attempt, let alone get to the cotter pin holding the auger in place. I looked it up, and apparently this model comes with the hopper pre-attached. My question is, is this damn thing even worth the effort? The air intake fan and the igniter miraculously still work, but as you can see, it's badly rusted inside (the rest of the parts not pictured, especially the cast iron grates, are just as bad), and I just don't know if it's worth trying to get it repaired or if I should just sell it for whatever parts are salvageable.
Honestly, who does this? Who drops 3-4 hundred on a pellet smoker and then just abuses it like this? I can see accidently leaving it in the rain once, but all winter? WTF, man…

When people say you get what you pay for, things like this is what they’re referring to.

One look in the hopper & it being full of shit should have been a clue not to buy it.

Dude honestly I’d just call it a loss and move on.
I’m in Myrtle beach and the humidity got my pellets in the auger and it took a tear down of about 45 mins of work once I got going.
With pellet grill prices always going down on sale I would just get a new one and enjoy the experience vs fighting with this
