Angela Label: Challenges and Successes in the World of Film and Television

Although his initial dream was to become policewoman, fate brought her in front of the cameras. His shyness initial did not slow down his rise and, after having collaborated with various broadcasters, he also discovered the world of cinema, taking part in films such as “Door and Shop” And “The Last Fighter”.

“But what goodness” was one of his flagships, a food and wine broadcast which combined famous people and cuisine, moreover growing up with a grandmother who is good at cooking, his connection with food has always been strong.

Today Angela Label continues to shine in the Tuscan television scene, bringing with it the warmth of Calabria and a genuine love for its cuisine and the stories it tells. The current event is the broadcast “Made in Tuscany”, which he created and which he conducts on the channel 3 Tuscany (channel 84 on digital terrestrial and streaming and on demand on canale3.t), it also deals with marketing consultancy for events, for start-ups, for new restaurants and companies, and finally it is also heavily involved with events related to the world of food.

But there’s more, because Angela has us released an exclusive interview in which we have explored the television personality but also the woman behind.

Angela, if you were to write a book about your life, what would the title be, and what funny anecdotes would absolutely be essential?

“«A little provincial girl”, the title of my book. Or “A little provincial warrior”, Depends.”

Very interesting and informative. Any anecdotes?

“Funny anecdotes, hello beautiful so many, considering that I have embraced different contexts, so I could tell you about when I made films. I was once making a fiction where I played a policewoman And I couldn’t get the gun outI blocked an entire set. On that same set I really gave my best: coming out of the flying I also hit a headbutt on the door.

Another funny thing, at the debut of a TV host live, imagine that this was on the camera red-green micro LED And since I’m also quite blind, I couldn’t see him from a distance. So at a certain point I started the broadcast by asking: I’m on air?

Or another time, when I was always doing a live program, the phone call from a very angry lady with a doctor present in the broadcast. He began to accuse him even in a vulgar way, heavy, and I remember trying to move my shirt because I was sweating from the tension.”

I can imagine, Angela, what should a conductor do in a case like this? What does the manual say?

“You must try to protect the guest on the air: this is precisely the danger of live broadcasting. We must avoid the risk of having to resort to legal assistance. It’s a very delicate position.”

Listen, Angela, was there a specific moment when you realized you wanted to embark on the path that led you here? And what drove you to Miss Italy, the cinema, the television?

“Actually Miss Italy It wasn’t my initiative. It’s born because of my uncleI was raised by this uncle because my mother remained single when I was three years old. As I grew up I became rather Junoesque, but cute, all in all. The problem is that in my mid-adolescence I just didn’t realize it. I was a a bit of a tomboy and I had avery low self-esteem. That’s why my uncle signed me up for Miss Italy, to prove me wrong. And I even reached the finals Even though I had little understanding of where I was, I was completely unaware of what was happening. I didn’t know how to put on makeup, I didn’t know how to walk in heels. In any case, it was a positive experience that opened many doors for me.”

Is that where you moved on to film? Or did you go straight to television?

“No, I went to Milan, working for some fashion agencies, and then after I arrived in Florence and started working for a newspaper, The New Courier of Florence. Later a publisher asked me: you want to do television? And I told him absolutely not.”

Famous last words…

“Yes. Then on the set I got there without ever doing a casting, some directors they called me to do some parts, generally, from a young age,  institutional roles, the policewoman, the principal, the lawyer, never a light role.”

Angela, if you could invite three famous people, past and present, to a dinner party, who would you choose and why? And what dish would you prepare to impress them?

Maria De Filippi. Silvio Berlusconi. And maybe Amanda Lear.

Why the three of them?

“Mary of Philippi because in my opinion it is a great professional and managed to create a important and innovative way of communicatingThe first format she created didn’t exist, right? She managed to become an institution by inventing Talent, etc. She is not an employee of Mediaset. She has her own production company. She has truly innovative what is the way of communicating on television

Berlusconi, from a human point of view, well, he clearly had his peculiarities, his limits, but from a professional point of view he was a great communicator, a great strategist. Think that when she was born his television He was nobody, was he? Well, one day he goes to Barilla to ask him to advertise on his television channel, and Barilla tells him no. So let’s do it like this, Silvio replies, I I’ll broadcast you for free for a year, if your turnover then increases by a certain percentage, that percentage is mine. And it went well for him, I think.”

And Amanda Lear?

“Amanda Lear, the inspiring muse of Dali, fascinates me because it had a absolutely mysterious life. Even today it is not clear whether it is male or female. He made a great marketing operation, he played on this secret all his life. And then why? it’s absolutely clear water, he has no filters, he says what he thinks.”

And what dish would you prepare to impress them?

“So, I for Berlusconi probably one bacon and egg. For the De Filippi a risotto. And for Amanda Lear I would probably throw it on a Catalan.”

Angela, what’s your secret recipe for facing challenges in life?

Angela Label Angela Label

“Definitely themain ingredient is strength. You don’t have to never give up. Not even when you see that objectively things aren’t going the way you’d like. But never give up. Until the last breath. Never give up.”

And there is a recipe that went badly.

“Absolutely yes. Many things didn’t go well. Even simply bet on a company which in reality does not have the prerequisites and things you wanted. But «all the mistakes», Oscar Wilde said, «they are experiences”.”

So, imagine going back in time and meeting yourself as a young woman. What advice would you give her, in light of her greater maturity and greater serenity?

“Well, I would definitely tell little Angela: love yourself more and don’t trust too many people.”

Angela, what is your worst flaw, in your opinion, and your best quality?

“From defects I have so many. They are stubborn, I am touchyStubborn to an impressive degree. If I have an idea, I’ll even manipulate you to make you change. If I want the fight, that’s it. As for… the merit, I recognize that I am a very very good person. I put much more energy into helping and supporting others than I do into helping myself sometimes.”

Angela, what’s the present for you?

“The present for me at this moment it’s a startup, in the sense that even though I have 25 years of career, I’m changing a lot of things, even quickly, so it’s a a period full of satisfactions, very rich in satisfactions, but also very tiring. The nice thing is that I realized that the freedom to be entrepreneurs it’s pricelessI’m just doing what I want to do, without any direction. The very fact that you can decide what events you want to attend, what things you can organize, gives you a lot more satisfaction.”

And the future, how do you see it?

“The future I like to imagine it very serene, with a big change. If I think about a future a long time from now, then I imagine a satisfied elderly lady, realized, with the possibility of to be an artist, maybe, something like that.”

We thank Angela Label for thevery interesting interview indeed, both from a professional and human point of view, and we do them our best in the mouth to the wolf for the continuation of his bright career, with the promise of seeing each other again soon on the pages of TuscanyPeople with new important updates.
