I'm pretty happy with it, but there's some things to do do different, namely a tighter roll on the California roll and better slices for the sashimi. Tips on that?

Looks good. What type of cut of sashimi is that on the nigiri. That’s sushi grade right?

Very well done. Tightly wrapped, well filled. A tiny bit rice heavy, but an outstanding first attempt.

More rice than I would like in that nigiri

It’s not perfect. It needs to be disposed of. By me. And only because I’m so nice.
As for advice, keep practicing. Mainly because it will be delicious.

Your rolls – less rice needed. The nori shouldn’t be ending up inside the roll like that.

Great job. This looks fantastic. I would eat your sushi any day.

This looks amazing for a first try. If anything I think that you simply used too much rice. I feel with sushi that less is more. You may have been able to make two rolls with all that avacado and rice. All that being said, you knocked it out of the park!

Nice my dude!
Thinner slices of sashimi the only advice I can give u is to just practice cutting it paper thin.
