They won’t allow this into any of the other food subreddits, can I leave it here?

Every meal is welcome, but this looks way too normal for this sub.

kudos to you thinking about using a bay leaf… but… I hope you’re aware that dry-roasting it on top of a crispy carcass doesn’t exactly do anything, right? It needs re-moisturizing and would have been better placed down below in the greasy part, which is hopefully used as a base for a sauce later on.

    A marinated baked chicken? 🤔🤷🏻

I dont know what this is, but I pick it anyways

I would kill for some of those pan drippings.

Looks fine, but it probably would’ve more acceptable if you’d put the roast on a proper platter and drizzled it with some sauce. Presentation is _everything_ on food subreddits.

This looks absolutely delicious. I’ve never had the courage to do a whole chicken. I do legs, thighs, breast all the time. This ain’t shitty to me. It looks amazing

Have you tried putting butter and spices under the skin?

  9. ThaBlackLoki

I’d leave it in my stomach with some ketchup

What’s the good stuff going on on the skin? Coriander seeds? We talking Indian/Persian type business?

Not shitty by any definition I want one

That’s hard to believe tbh 🤨

you’ll get more flavor if you grind your spices like (coriander is much more palatable and pleasant when ground imo). you can pick up a cheap mortar and pestle online or I’ve also found them in Asian markets as well. grinding herbs or spices with a little pinch of coarse salt will make for a more uniformly ground powder with less effort.

but otherwise for an extra crispy chicken this looks pretty good. I’d eat it ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Bay leaf in fats is the way to go but …this looks pretty. I’d eat it.

Looks overcooked, and is that an egg shoved up there? Looks flavourful though, with plenty of gravy I reckon that could be a decent cornerstone of a roast. 5.5/10
