Yes, a 1kg or 2.2 ound brisket can't be the best.
But i was at least expecting a piece of flat kr something…
Instead i got 3 messy looking pieces.
Wish me luck smoking this today, it's suppose to be for my birthday but i might have to smoke some chicken too…

Oh yea: if any of you got some advice on how to smoke this….
Welcome!
I used some string to hold it together and injected it with a bunch of farty beef broth.
I will now try and smoke at 109c/228f
I would def roll and shape it into as even a piece of meat as you can make it and truss it up with butchers string that you’ve soaked in water to keep it from burning easily.
Smoke it. Cube it. Make it into chilli.
Honestly, it’ll be the best thing you can do with it except mincing it.
I don’t even know what that in the picture is.
This is your fault
You should try the restaurant store’s like Makro or Sligro tbh.. they do sell whole briskets. Buying meat online is always a risk and the good suppliers are pricey.
I mean, 1kg is very little for a brisket. I’m not sure how they could cut a roast into a piece that small. I think you’d probably be looking at least 3-4kg for a decent piece.
Little bits of chuck steak, man that does not look good at allll
This is why you need Costco in the Netherlands 😜
Probeer is bij de lokale Turk hals lappen. (Chuck roast) . Vaak hebben ze mooie grote stukken+1kg
That’s chuck
OP- I’m unsure about in Europe, where you are based, but here in America an order of 2.2# Brisket would be an odd order for people looking to smoke it. Typically if the meat is going on the smoker, you will smoke the whole thing (which is actually 2 muscles, so it may be different in Europe where the butchering method is different). I have smoked half the cut before and had it turn out well, but you are still looking at minimum a 6-8# cut of beef.
All that being said, what you got doesn’t look at all like brisket to me. I would heavily suggest you follow up and get a refund or store credit of some kind, or at least get an explanation.
Wtf is that
That looks worse than what I trim off my briskets.
I would either return that (if possible) or grind it for burgers. It does not look like it’s going to cook up as much more than disappointment.
When will you be doing the heroin – during the cook or after ?
Are you Dutch? These look like runderriblappen, or sukade lappen. You got scammed. These are good in Stoofvlees though. Put them in a stew for ~6hours with some red wine, stock and onions.
Meat so bad you’re having to chase the dragon to try and smoke him instead
That’s brutal. I would be pissed
That does not look like the brisket we get in the U S!
roll it and tie it together. But honestly, speaking from experience, it’s not worth the trouble. Just stew it in liquid and you’ll have a much better experience not worrying that you’ll dry it out. I live in vietnam and this is the same way they have “brisket”
That’s not brisket. Chuck maybe. At best 1kg would be a small piece of brisket.
What in gods name is that!?
I dont understand the down votes, either. Jeesh, give him a break!
Looks like they tried to glue three pieces together with meat glue and it didn’t take.
It’s definitely not a brisket.
That is a terrible looking chuck
Not brisket. Looks like chuck.
Im curious for the update, also from the Netherlands looking for some good brisket.
Happy Bday…they F u up…
What in the fuck is that?
That my friend is definitely NOT a brisket….. looks more like part of a Topside which is from the hind quarter of the beast.
