I don’t know if I’m the odd person out but I only enjoy lobster occasionally. Too much in too short intervals is off putting to me and I don’t enjoy it that much.
Scallops though? I don’t think I would ever tire of them.

I’ve never seen it this cheap. On the cape it’s 50-70

Recreational lobstering = fun family time + free lobster.

It may seem like a lot per pound but a pound is a lot more volume than you may think. This is a steal. I would be snacking all day long.

Ha ha! If you knew the state of my finances you’d smile at the thought lol
The only time this was the case is when I spent my summers in Nova Scotia (70’s, 80’s) and we’d get them straight from the boats. They were cheaper that way.

Where is this

This price is artificially low. Frozen TKC is $28-30 lb… if it is in fact fresh, the average cost of a hard shell lobster is currently $13/lb. Cooked lobster has a 20% yield, so a lb of lobster meat would require 5 lb of cooked lobster, so more like $65/lb.

If you notice, there is not one single tail in that pile. They don’t pick meat down at the docks, or very rare to find someone who does. That is most likely a previously frozen product. As someone who is in the business, average retail price of Fresh picked meat with tails, knuckles and claws is about $55 in Southern Maine.

That looks so delicious
RagbraiRat
That’s all claw and knuckle meat. If that’s what you like, good for you. The price would be considerably higher if tail meat was included.
