Don’t skip the profiteroles for dessert.

Looks good, food wise. $60 for steak frites and a drink would have been shocking in 2019.

The meal referenced in the post is like $100 when you toss in tax and tip.

This is what a neighborhood bistro in Fort Greene is now.

Where is the other half of that steak?

    $41

Not sure I want to give something April Bloomfield is involved with my money.

What is the thing on top of the steak? I know it isn’t a urinal cake and my brain needs information to replace what it originally thought it was.

I had their Bavette steak in December. It was served potatoes pave instead of fries, and instead of the blue cheese I think it had a horseradish sauce. It was actually the very best dish I’ve had in the past year!

This place is really solid. Yeah, the Bavette is on the smaller side but it’s delicious. Great service. Good hospitality. Fun ambiance. One of my favorites this past year.

Of all the middling bistros mentioned here, I think Sailor is the one that comes closest to justifying its price. Romans, Colonia Verde, Evelina, and Saraghina are all a worse value proposition even though they’re cheaper, imo.

But for the money, I think the only really nice place in that part of Ft. Greene/Clinton Hill that really justifies its price is Miss Ada.
