Beef has gotten so expensive in the US. Felt lucky to find a few ribeyes 50% off.

Lol what’s up with that pepper pattern

Gotta love it when politics directly negatively impact our lives as regular Americans. So fun!

Cannot be worse than in Canada. Canadian ribeyes will run over $50 a pound. It’s eye watering.

Yeah the prices are wild right now. And most cuts nowadays look like yours, no marbling at all

Can’t afford beef anymore, we’re a pork house now :/

I’m curious where you live. I think beef prices have come down a little, but since I can buy direct from the producer where I live, I pay much less than grocery store prices after cutting and packaging. The thing that gets me is that cuts that were formerly very affordable, such as brisket and short ribs, are now outrageously expensive because they have become trendy.

Pro tip: head over to your local grocery store in the morning and pick up yesterday’s meat on discount. I do this every couple of weeks. Chicken, pork, beef all marked down. But he sure to check against regular price. Sometimes they are tricky.

It is UNBELIEVABLE how expensive it is, with no real justifiable explanation like when egg prices soared due to the bird flu. I mean there’s no shortage of cows and I believe most of our beef is domestic so tariffs should not impact the price. Even at the low end, ground beef is $5/lb on average here in the Pacific Northwest.

My local store did 50% off ribeyes last week. The prior week was $16.99 regular price.

The sale week was 50% off of $23.99/lb

It’s criminal what’s happening with food in the US. Raising prices to feign a “sale” violates FTC regulations.

Too bad no one works there anymore

Could have used that discount on last night 82$ bone in rid eye at Mastro’s

saw 15 per pd. sirloin today.. We have become a chicken house.

I’ve been paying $30/lb for tenderloin for well over 10 years.

    Ribeyes at $19.99

    Strips at $17

    Sirloin at 12.99

Ground beef(chuck or sirloin) at $5.99

30-45 day Dry-aged ribeye $35/lb. This one has gone up considerably in the last two years.

If my partner wasn’t a butcher I’d probably unwillingly be vegetarian 😭

As an independent (and rancher, ) I’m not sure why everybody automatically makes the shortage of political. Cato has been in short demand for the last 15 years. This is nothing new.

$ 25 / lb for new your strip. Ridiculous. Thanks Trump. We import lots of beef from brazil so yes this is on Trump.

Really? Sam’s club i can get pretty good deals

  17. Old_School_Hank

Name me one time in the last 50 years people didn’t complain about grocery prices. You think this is new? When has anyone said “ I’m glad grocery processes are at an all-time low”

  18. Old_School_Hank

Old school Hank isn’t following the norm here. Let’s give him a down vote because he has his own opinion! Knock your socks off

Meat quality is not good. My butcher is passing select meat as choice….so is Costco.

I cooked 25 day dry aged strip last night. $26.99/lb. Was damn good as I had 24 hours to salt those things down beforehand.

Thought I was going crazy when I went to my local grocery store and ribeyes were $20 per. Insane.

I’ve noticed prices are much lower, like pre pandemic prices. I bought 10 large KC strips for $60 this week. Last week I grilled ribeyes for cheap. I’ve got several pounds of wagyu ground beef I picked up for $5/lb.

  23. Meanwhile because of the sanctions , people in Brazil don’t know what to do with all that cheap filet mignon, ribeye and all other beef
