My GF works at Van luwheen so I’m lucky i get to have their ice cream pretty much whenever lol. I was going overboard at first had to scale it back (having a pint almost every day smh). When she told me they were coming out with Ooey goey buttter cake i was hype to try it and honestly its pretty good. I’d say jennis still got it as far as “best version “ of this flavor I’ve had but VL is great though. The base is flavorful they pack it with alot of cake pieces and the pieces are more similar to the butter cake than jennis which is more yellow cake with the caramel swirl to give it the gooey feeling. It also has some of the honeycomb pieces in it but it doesn’t overpower it. Wondering if anyone else has tried this flavor? Also wanna shoutout the series of post on here from last year i think where they reviewed a bunch of VL pints that was cool I was following those reviews lol

I have! It’s extremely sweet…it’s good in the sense that it hits that sugar craving but it’s honestly almost too sweet and cloying to me. It’s not something I’d buy again
Yes, didn’t think it was well executed. Base was fine, hardly any caramel and cake pieces weren’t anything close to actual OGBC.
I would put the Jeni’s and Blue Bell version ahead of it as far as retail. Jeni’s base and level of caramel are much better. Blue Bell’s cake pieces were better. The Gelato Boy version was not to solid.
Clementine’s is a different level but in fairness they aren’t super market retail, more craft.
Jeni’s Gooey Butter Cake is the best hands down
