This is the best ham I’ve ever eaten and it’s not even close.

  1. I smoked this at 250 on my Weber kettle with hickory charcoal and chunks of Maple wood underneath it. https://i.imgur.com/NPKRNYu.jpeg

This is just a regular grocery store pre-cooked spiral ham that I opened, tossed the glaze packet, and put on the smoker.

Then I smoked at 250 for an hour while the homemade glaze was in a pan in the smoker gathering smoke. Then I started basting every 15 minutes for another 1.5 hours or so before taking it off to cool.

The glaze is (with no measurements sorry):

Maple syrup, brown sugar, homemade smoked garlic salt, sweet bbq rub, pepper, onion powder, apple juice, and butter. I went heavy on the brown sugar and let it simmer in the smoker to collect smoke flavor and reduce a bit before applying.

**Edit: I didn’t want to make a separate post for them but I made these beans last night too:** https://imgur.com/a/bMdCcuK

I mostly followed the recipe in this video, but for one I used beef with jalapeno, and the other I used sausage with bell pepper. Both used a bbq sauce and rub I found at Kroger instead of whatever the dude in the video was shilling. The bacon on top in the first pic is homemade bacon I made a year ago and had vacuum sealed. They turned out fantastic. https://youtu.be/7PFQYvFfOx0

Don’t you love it when you’re just like whatever, I’m gonna toss this ham on there, and it turns out awesome lol

Smoked ham is one of the better-tasting things on the planet when it’s done well. It’s pretty forgiving, too.

Looks great! I’ve never had anything like this, how does it get served?

Hope you got some beans for that broth and bone!

Hell yeah! I also did a smoked ham today and it was amazing

Ham on the smoker is one of my secrets. I do it frequently. The other one is breakfast sausage. Buy the cheapest you can find. Coat it in mustard and then roll in your favorite seasoning.

That looks absolutely delicious! I did one for my parents a few weeks back, did a honey maple brown sugar glaze. Was awesome. Question, what is this smoked garlic salt you mentioned? That sounds interesting as hell

  10. Last one of those I did, my 10 year old pulled up a chair to the smoker and started eating it right there before I could move it to the kitchen.

  11. rakakaki

Did it come pre smoked and you smoked it again? Thinking about doing this too.

  12. Bonerschnitzel69

Thanks for all the tips. I have not done one of these yet on my smoker.

  13. Terrible_Tourist_707

I smoked a ham once. Now my older brother expects me to smoke a ham every time he comes to town. He said it was the best ham he ever tasted. But his wife doesn’t eat pork, so I might smoke my first brisket the next time they come

I smoked a ham for our dock people last year and used a Coke for seasoning. Best tasting ham ever

Same! I smoked one just kinda on a random thing. Omg the wife and kids went crazy on it. It still ranks in my top 4 or 5 of all time.

My kids love double smoked ham!!! It’s easy and amazing!!

Also kind of looks like you fried up the top half of a giant gopher.
