Muhammara Recipe

Serves: 3-4 (as a dip/starter)

INGREDIENTS:

-2 medium red bell peppers, roasted
-1/4 cup walnuts, toasted
-2 tablespoons bread crumbs, toasted
-fresh lemon juice
-salt
-1/2-1 teaspoon aleppo chilli flakes or kashmiri chilli powder
-1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
-1-1.5 tablespoons pomegranate molasses
-1/2 tablespoon tomato paste
-1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
-pita bread, to serve

Garnish:

-extra virgin olive oil
-pomegranate molasses
-chopped toasted walnuts
-pomegranate seeds/arils
-fresh parsley leaves, chopped
-fresh mint leaves, chopped
