I’m trying to learn latte art, but every time I start pouring, the milk just sinks straight to the bottom instead of staying on top. I’ve got good crema, so I’m confused about what’s going wrong.

Is it my milk texture? My pour? Speed? Angle?

Any tips for a beginner who wants to stop making “invisible art” and start getting some actual patterns?

The photo attached is the closest I’ve gotten but it still want the result I expected. I’ve tried a variety of different cups/mugs but the results are the same.
