This week, swap your Pucci for poochies, Ferragamo for Ferragosto, and your vintage Fendi baguette for a French-speaking lunch at a bistro with a similar name where Hermès accents adorn the walls.
Tres chic, non?
There’s also a slew of deals, including three downtown plus one for kids that parents will appreciate.
Listed prices do not include tax and tip, so plan accordingly.
Pawty on at Humane Society Naples fundraiser
Gypsy Sue and her humans Mike and Gail Cochran host the pup’s 12th birthday party at Island Gypsy Café from 4 to 6 p.m Aug. 18. Admission is free, and so is the food, but showing up empty-handed might earn a growl: All gifts go to Humane Society Naples, the nonprofit no-kill shelter, which relies on donations to keep the facility running.
Suggested presents include unopened bags of dog and cat food; clean towels and blankets ― a huge need; bowls and collars; and kitty litter. Cash and checks are great too. All proceeds benefit HSN. Poochies are welcome, but bring a leash. Fun fact: In 2022, this mostly Mastiff mix’s fundraising efforts earned a doggie dorm room dedicated in her honor at the Airport-Pulling Road shelter.

Roman holiday
Grappino, Sea Salt’s youngest sister (for now), celebrates Ferragosto on Aug. 17 from noon to 3 p.m. with tents in the parking lot serving porchetta sandwiches on focaccia for $9. Add $2 for a Peroni and $1 for soft drinks. Music too. According to Wikipedia, Ferragosto was created by Roman Emperor Augustus, who made Aug. 1 a day of rest for farm workers. It’s usually celebrated Aug. 15 in that other Naples (Italy). Lamborghini Naples will showcase cars.
The restaurant also launches its August three-courses for $29 early dinner deal from 4 to 5 p.m.
