Closer called out and nobody could cover. 20 person party ended up being a 60 person party and had two new people on tonight. Cheers and here’s to hoping it doesn’t happen again 😂👏

If a party came in with 40 extra here we’d send them packing and keep the deposit or charge the cancellation fee

    “The salary is worth it”

Such a sad sentence. Hope you got kids to feed and no other way, because if not… the salary ain’t fuckin worth this on the regular.

Dude, I hear you. I like my job, love the owner but I’m burning out. When the conversation started he mentioned my healthy pay bump and I told him I’m more than happy with my financial compensation but it also can’t buy my mental health.

It was super hard to put my foot down but he heard me. I want to be here for it so I need some extra time to collect myself so I don’t go from KM to just washing dishes somewhere because I just have a meltdown. If you have a good enough boss, you can draw a line. I got N extra day off last week, and was going to this week but realized it couldn’t happen due to my crew’s time off request but we’re back in the trenches together.

I dream of just deciding not to show up one day but I know I could never do that, instead I got the support I asked for(mostly) and a lot more effort from the owner. Salary isn’t everything, take care of yourself.

It’s worth it until it ain’t. Good for you for working your ass off either way.

This is straight up illegal where I live

  8. SunnySanDiego44

Illegal as fuck. No break?! Are you in CA?

  9. finicky88

Lmao your employer would be closed down for this little maneuver where I live. Working anything more than 10 hours is insanely illegal here, except some jobs where it’s unavoidable (firefighters, ER docs, medics etc get 24 hour shifts with 2 days off afterwards)

If that salary is netting you $50/hr w/benes, maybe. But not really.

OT at 8hrs, Double OT at 12

I remember those days. For anyone reading this you should consider a government job. I’m part of a union and get a paid lunch hour, holiday pay, overtime, 3 weeks paid vacation, hundreds of hours of paid sick time, I make $30/h

Why do chefs work long hours?

So they can tell everyone else they work long hours.

you do 15hr days on salary? are you getting extra time off?

  14. Salary ain’t worth your health and sanity. Don’t pretend like it is. Take care of yourself.

Do you guys use Toast for your POS? My little clock-in/out tickets look just like that

16 hour day on salary? Lol you’re working for peanuts.

  17. GruggleTheGreat

Owner owes you a fat bonus for stepping up like this. Sounds like you have a good attitude but going above and beyond and getting nothing for it is how you get abused and chumped in this world

  18. Whole_Sweet_Gherkins

SALARY??? if this is a daily thing you gotta be making like $125k for this to average out to an even halfway decent salary

  19. overindulgent

Are you an hourly employee? Or a true salary? While a 16 hour day is not unheard of, and I would totally be there for my employer if I’m needed. I personally would be working a half day or two to “get my hours back”.
