Argentine architects Gonzalo Barrado and Antonella Tesio opened Entrecot on the Napa riverfront in 2022.
About three years after it opened along Napa’s riverfront, Argentine restaurant Entrecot shut down last month. The 1,850-square-foot space on Main Street is now available for lease and may soon have a new occupant.
In a farewell message posted to Facebook before the closure, Entrecot’s team described their time in Napa as a journey “filled with passion, flavor, and unforgettable moments.”
“As we prepare to close our doors, our hearts are full of gratitude for everyone who has walked through them,” the post read. No reason for the closure was given.
Founded by Argentine architects Gonzalo Barrado and Antonella Tesio, Entrecot sought to bring a “taste of true Argentinian cuisine” to Napa and transport customers to the city of Córdoba. Barrado declined to comment on the closure.
With Entrecot gone, Napa’s Riverfront shopping center now hosts four dining spots: Morimoto Napa, Morimoto Asia, Waterfront Seafood Grill and Los Agaves. The mixed-use development, owned by Richmond-based Regatta Holdings, also includes retail shops and offices.
Two prospective tenants are interested in the vacant restaurant, according to Matt Connolly of Santa Rosa-brokerage W Real Estate, which handles leasing for Napa’s Riverfront.
“I hope we’ll get a new tenant signed up in the next couple of months,” Connolly said. “It will most likely be a restaurant. With improvements, they could move in in six months.”
Before Entrecot, the space housed Frati Gelato Cafe, which operated from 2012 to 2017 under owners Anthony LuPriore and Ron DeLay.
