That morning when I walked into the dining room, I spoke. I said, “Good morning.” He said, “Good morning.” I said, “What are we going to have for breakfast this morning?” He said, “Fried peanut butter and banana sandwich.” And I looked at him. I said, “What?” He said, “Fried peanut butter and banana sandwich.” I said, “I never heard of it.” The first time I went in, fixed the sandwich and put it on the tree and brought it back. That wasn’t right. His the father was sitting there and he said, “Mary, I’m going with you and help you and let’s see maybe both of us can get it right.” I said, “Okay.” And uh he said, “Let’s toast the bread first.” So we toast the bread and then spread the peanut butter on and sliced the bananas and put on and uh put them into the skillet and kept turning them with the spatula and turn them till they got heated all the way through. Then I take them and cut them put them on the platter and taking them back to me and he said that’s what I want. That’s right. And then smile.

  6. I used to make something similar for my kids when they were little. I used Nutella instead of pb and added marshmallows on top of the bananas…fried them up and topped with a little powdered sugar..they were good

  7. That's sweet but always remember Elvis dated a 14 year old girl when he was in his 20's and then got her pregnant and immediately left her afterwards

  8. Why is she flattening the bread? If that was a grilled cheese, she would go straight to hell, otherwise known as Chicago, for that.

  9. I've seen so many variations but im glad I got to see the actual woman making the actual thing on video. I thought there was also jam in there. I also didnt know you toast it first in a toaster! That's a game changer right there.

  11. Ok everyone think about this: sweet croutons for ice cream. Toast your cubed bread in butter until golden brown, then dredge in granulated sugar.

  12. Anyone who has toured the house can imagine her cooking in that kitchen and Elvis sitting in the dinning waiting room or his bedroom waiting for those sandwiches to come out!
