Who’s looking for the perfect crust? I am looking for a bread that tastes good and has a good mouth feel.

You posted that about your own bread so I think it’s entirely fair to say this isn’t the perfect crust.

Don’t listen to the haters. I’d eat the shit outta that!

Why is it perfect? If your happy with it that’s good though but Im just wondering what makes it perfect

I like the color on the top, but there was too much dough for the size of the pan, so it ‘mushroomed’. That generally doesn’t affect flavor, though. (I did have one loaf that not only mushroomed but went down the sides of the pan and I had to cut it out of the loaf pan. I moved up to a MUCH larger pan the next time.)

King Arthur usually posts a set of classic baking fails on April 1st every year. One year they had an example of what happens when you have too much dough in a Pullman pan, it blew the lid off and damaged the interior of the oven.

It looks tasty but I wouldn’t describe it as perfect

  7. .…holy hell, OP is just using a common expression to share their joy and pride in their bread, you trolls.

    It looks delicious!

Perfection is subjective. Nice looking loaf, great color. Might be perfect.
