Fortunately a wonderful friend brought me real food every day, so I didn't actually eat this!

I like the crappy turkey sometimes… Probably not in a hospital though… I would eat the mashed potatoes and gravy for sure. Glad your friend was able to get you something.

Hypertension. I’ll keep the rest of the diagnosis why you’re there confidential.

Come to Hungary and have a meal in one of our hospitals. Then you won’t think it was wrong in the picture.
xiaoalexy
the veggies look so so sad
iamtpagne
Was it cake???
Interesting_Pair_997
How was the filet mignon?
aaaahhatelife
I’d eat that. . . I mean in comparison to my cooking. At least you know it’s safe to eat.
KeepGamingNed
Yummmm…. Mash soaked in…. Latte ?

r/hospitalfood would appreciate your post for good or ill, with your rating out of 10, and the country.
You’ll see how much worse the food can be (Germany and Hungary have the worst I’ve seen) *and* how much better (Portugal, Singapore, Japan).

Damn this unlocked a memory. I swear I had this exact same meal in the mental hospital.
Far_Palpitation_8107
Damn. Our local hospital actually has decent food. Don’t ask why I’ve been there so much to know. 😅😅

My father was a terrible person but he worked at dominos and whenever we were stuck in a hospital for a family member, he would order the entire group (really large family at the time) pizza at a discounted price.
Hospital food in the US is always terrible.

Reminds me of the school Thanksgiving dinner. Despite appearances, it tasted really good.

Was this a Foundation Trust Hospital? If so they have a council of governors to represent patients at board level. The role was greatly marginalised under the Tories but I would check and email them this picture.
vvmatw
i’d for sure eat that
unauthorizedlifeform
Mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed canned veggies. I mean, compared to the graham crackers and condiment-less sandwich you could have received, this looks decent. Was it hot?
Redhot_timebomb
My uncle once told me he was regretful and remorseful every time he had to eat chicken. He disliked chicken intensely.
I would say this meal would make me feel like that.
granitegumball
Veggies look awful but I love me some hospital taters
BAMitsAlex
You def ate some mashed potatoes, unless it was served with a bite taken out of it…
AzureHawky
Looks good to me. How did it taste?
beatenprim-rose-opal
I grew up in Hemet CA and going to the hospital to eat was the business! Once FURRS was done we all went to the hospital and pigged out lol
reillyqyote
My condolences, this literally looks worse than every single meal I’d ever been served while in max sec jail
nukalurk
Looks like it could use some salt and pepper, but I would smash that including the hot-dog turkey discs.
somehuehue
Looks fine, tbh.

Most people don’t eat as well as this.
Critical_Training455
Prison hospital I assume
77sleeper
I ate meatloaf 2 meals a day for 7 of the 9 days I was in the hospital, because that was the only meal that met all of my stupid ass Dr imposed dietary restrictions.
Ok_Appointment_3939
Looks pretty good to me ngl
zenith_pkat
Looks better than the shit they are feeding the school children these days.
IvIKu_Mayorm
i mean depending on what your their for hospital food is specifically made to be healthy and not react negatively with you body while the doctors find what’s wrong with you
Windle_Poons456
Looks bland and low quality, but I’d still eat it. At least there’s gravy.
Celesteven
“Sweetie, are you alright? You hardly touched your meat discs.”
soggycardboardstraws
Sure it’s not the best but I demolish that shit every time it’s set in front of me. Maybe like 2 times in hospital and about 10 times or so in jail. Honestly you demolish everything in jail but whatever lol
Asleep_Fix3900
Well you’re in the right place in case of an emergency 🤣 hospitals & planes continue to impress ✌️
Prudent_Worth5048
That looks like it came straight from the $2 freezer section.. gross. I specifically chose (only had like 2, maybe 3 options anyway) the hospital/OB where I had my last 2 babies because their food is fucking DELICIOUS and they have SO much variety and the best desserts! Literally the BEST chocolate cake I’ve ever had in my 35 years of life, came from that hospital. I’d eat 2 pieces every night AND my nurses got me extra to take home! Lmao.
mulchedeggs
Not bad for hospital food. I had weak broth thickened with xanthan gum or some other starch. So this is much better!

This is just the HungryMan Turkey dinner but without the stuffing…
