I recently made a return to Nespresso after a 5 year hiatus – moved to a basic 'real' espresso machine back at the start of Covid (a Delonghi Dedica) and enjoyed many years of use out of it. However with multiple young children now, and a need to reduce overall caffeine intake, I decided to go back to Nespresso when I saw a deal for the Vertuo Pop.
Pretty happy with it so far – the decaffeinated pods are definitely better than what I remember back in the day with the OL, and it's great to mix it up with different size coffees for different times of day. The caffeinated stuff definitely tastes way better in general than the decaf, but the decaf is drinkable for the most part.
I do still enjoy having a caffeinated coffee 4-5 times a week and have particularly enjoyed the Double Espresso Chiaro and the Bianco Doppio in particular π€
Any other decaf drinkers out there with ideas on how to get the best taste out of a Vertuo?
N.b. I didn't get a free sample with my order, is thst just an American thing? I did get a free glass set for my first order over $75, however.

I think you have to specifically select that you want to receive a sample.
You have to add the free sample to the cart at checkout. Itβs easy to miss.
I never get samples either or see the option to add them and Iβm not in the USA either. Any non-Americans get free sample pods?
Ok so I went to a boutique shop and asked about the free samples – in the U.K. you only get them if you have the monthly subscription π
I got free samples when I bought my machine. I bought an Essenza Mini. They sent me Virtuo samplesβ¦
Was on the same boat as you til the βfree gift after your first and second orderβ caught my eye on their website. like.. really?? Now that I stocked up on 100+ pods thinking itβs by money spent? π₯²
There is also a half decaf pod I purchase from Nespresso.
It is quite good and saves on caffeine.
9/10 times it 1 Melazino and 1 Melazino Decaf pod. π€·πΌββοΈ
If u call and tell them they will fix it for u and send u the samples.
if you do it on the app, it’s automatically added into your cart after you pass $50 (maybe even less idk)!
You have to click on yes for the free sample
That coffee βboxβ giving me deathstar vibes lol
My free samples were the golden caramel and decaf sweet vanilla, two of my least favorites.
IMO, you’re not missing anything.
Just reordered yesterday via the app (US) – free samples automatically included.
Iβm in the US, using the app before a recent update would end up with me not receiving the samples, even though I ordered them. Ordering on the website I always received my free samples. Iβd call when I didnβt receive them and theyβd send them out. Does it mention free samples on your app?
