Looks bomb, but you should not cook it in the tin. The tin is not meant to be heated and may release chemicals into the fish

The linings of the cans are designed to withstand canning temperatures of 200* – not oven, air fryer, or broiler temps of 400*+

Don’t eat can linings, y’all. Cook your fish in heatproof dishes

This and the Costco sashimi post on r/sushi yesterday have me fucked up

I am dubious that The King enjoys his tinned oysters thusly.

I would like to apologize to everyone I hurt by heating this up in its tin, this is only my second time making these and this is how the recipe taught me I will not heat it up in the tin again…

Easy mistake. Don’t let everyone get you down. Lesson learned.

In principle I think you are spot on. Dump these in an oven safe ramekin and boom. Add your toppings and have at it! Cheers mate!

This looks like a delicious way of preparing smoked oysters, but the name a la king is not correct for it. This is much closer to a scampi.

a la king involves a creamy sauce (a cross between a bechamel and a veloute, sometimes enriched at the end with heavy cream and egg yolks), and sautéed or roasted mushrooms, and generally canned pimiento pieces. I prefer, and use, frozen or freshly shelled garden peas though. My daughter uses corn for the sweet tidbit element instead of peas or pimentos.

    Just saying…

Does not very appealing to me but I won’t down-vote you. It surely taste great so I will upvote it!

Maybe the industry should change. The tins need to be oven safe so we can do stuff like this. There I said it, now make it happen

GUYS. STOP COOKING WITHIN THE TIN. These just like pretty much every other canned anything, should not be cooked inside the tin.

I’m sure this was yummy, but the tin made me think this was r/shittyfoodporn. 😞
