It's a violet sparkle and has always made purple striped ones but now there is an orange one?? Is this some kind of heat stress thing or disease? It's been really hot out recently.

it is normal for Violet Sparkle peppers to turn orange as they ripen. They typically start green, then develop purple patches, and finally turn orange before potentially ripening further to red. The orange stage is part of their natural progression as they ripen and develop more sweetness.

Fill the pot with some dirt. Leaving it that low opens the door for some problems and the roots are exposed. Probably won’t affect the color but it will be healthier for the plant
