@Parmer/35. About what you'd expect, maybe a little better. The brisket beans were the surprising standout. Turkey was moist enough. Pablono sausage link was decent, but I could barely taste the cheese. My coworker got the blueberry cobbler (not pictured) and said it was really good.

I get it when I need lunch or dinner and I’m already in store.

It’s solid. Nothing to write home, but I like to throw the meat in other meals, like soup or pasta.

They low key have great beer deals. Bbq is pretty great when you consider it’s grocery store food.

Turkey and Brisket are solid. Always disappointed in the sausage as it never seems like it hit the heat enough and could just go microwave one of their Heritage sausages.

Don’t sleep on their chicken tenders – they are oddly listed under the BBQ meat section.

Better than Rudy’s and Bill Miller’s by a long shot.

Which HEBs are doing this? I think I’ve heard of 3 so far in Austin.

Those beans are by far my favorite out of any BBQ joint.

Oh hey, this is also my True Texas BBQ spot! You’ll always have people dogging on HEB barbecue but tell me another place that has a drive thru, decent BBQ, and a good selection all attached to a grocery store

My sister sent me a picture of the brisket from there. It looked really good, but I’ve never been myself. She said it was good.

How u gonna give as an actual review if you didn’t even try the brisket. That should be the main benchmark item to determine the quality of the BBQ restaurant. Just like how General Tso/orange chicken is to Chinese restaurants and how butter chicken is to Indian restaurant.

The sliced brisket baked potato is one of my favorites

They still got the brisket burnt end with Mac sandwiches!?

The brisket is always a bit too steamy for my liking

HEB BBQ is awesome! Especially when Im grocery shopping but don’t want to cook when I get home! I’m not big turkey person but their turkey is solid!

Ate at the mueller one a few times and it’s always been really good

Probably the best compromise for flavor and value in the area! We keep going back for dinners.

They’re also the best value for bbq catering. We had their bbq as part of our wedding spread.

Gotta get the honey butter cornbread with the brisket beans 🤤

Yall crazy for eating BBQ for lunch. I would pass out hard at my desk if I did that

Their brisket and ribs are really good! Also love the cornbread. It’s not like Franklin’s good, but for really solid barbecue with no line, it’s a great option.

I feel the same way about HEB sushi and poke bowls. It’s better than it has any right to be. If I want life changing, I’ll go to Uchiko. If I want good and easy sushi for a quick lunch, I’ll go to HEB.

They keep everything extremely clean and fresh, so it’s pretty consistent. The only thing that leads to inconsistency is the pit masters who trim the meat and smoke it. Find a good one with good pit masters and you won’t be disappointed

different strokes for different folks i guess, because i’d barely put this above rudy’s the few times i’ve tried it.
