I’ve been lurking on this sub for a while and getting ready to pull the trigger on a machine when my wife found this.

Not 100% sure id it works yet as im missing the portafilter. I have a new portafilter coming in tomorrow. It does turn on, it does makes steam on the frother, I can hear the pump kick on, and it grinds beans. So I’m pretty sure it will pull a shot but there will be a learning curve for me as I’m new to espresso making. Let me know if you have any tips of what you might do to clean it and ensure it’s in tip top shape. I assuming I should descale it first.

Well damn. You beat me. I paid $90 at auction for a BDB that only showed ~400 shots on the counter and so far has been the best deal I’ve seen here. 🙂

descale, remove/clean the shower screen (where the portafilter attaches).

Just got one dropped off from the in-laws, They bought a house and it came with it, they do not drink coffee. Woot woot. Does anyone know the best burr/grind setting?
